It’s the best damn wrestling Q&A, period. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and my brother, the Infamous One, is better than yours. Let’s roll.
Nic Nemeth, aka Dolph Ziggler, was the big surprise at TNA Hard to Kill, immediately laying out the new TNA Champion Moose. Thoughts?
TNA will be a good fit for Dolph, with the limited schedule, but strong booking and talented wrestlers. Excuse me. I mean Nic Nemeth. He’s a top guy with a strong following and in TNA, he’ll be treated as one, thus being able to make an impact. Good move by Mr. Nemeth.
Jungle Boy Jack Perry has shown back up in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he jumped the guard rail, tore up his AEW Contract, and put on an armband that says, “scapegoat”. Thoughts?
Given the relationship and constant cross-promotion between New Japan and AEW, this is a good move. Playing off the CM Punk situation, even though he can’t talk about it, and making himself the victim will make a great angle. The best heels have always been the ones who believe they’re the victim and the good guy. That’s been proven since Day 1 and Perry using this as the basis for his character shows more insight than I would have thought him capable of. I’m interested in seeing how this plays out.
Dana Brooke is now in TNA, wrestling under the name Ash by Elegance, which seems to be a cross between Eva Marie & Toni Storm. Thoughts?
I’m happy for Dana, but that character and gimmick are such a blatant ripoff of Toni Storm, that it’s not even funny. Dana is a good wrestler and should be able to do well as a TNA Knockout. Hopefully, though, that character gets dropped sooner rather than later and she’s able to just be herself. One can only hope.
Do you think WWE should capitalize on Jinder Mahal’s sudden spike in popularity and have him shock everyone again by winning the World Heavyweight Championship?
I wouldn’t be unhappy if it was to happen and play out that way. I’ve always been a fan of Jinder since the 3MB days and it shakes up everything in the WWE right now, which is always a fun thing, especially this close to Mania. It would give WWE a “must-see because anything can happen” aura and that’s always good.
Who do you see defeating Christian for the TNT title assuming he loses it before facing Edge again?
If they’re sticking to Wrestling 101 booking, it should be Luchasaurus when he’s finally had enough and does the face turn.
Ernie Ladd versus Greg Valentine. Who wins?
As big a fan of Ernie Ladd, as I’ve always been, this one should go to The Hammer, Greg Valentine.
If a new “nWo” was formed in WWE, what five members would you include in this faction?
A new nWo for the WWE, using current superstars. I’d look for the connections to the original group so Bron Breakker, the nephew of Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner would be a must. And just off the top of my head, I’d round it out with Baron Corbin, Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, and Grayson Waller.
Who would you cheer for if Swerve and MJF fight?
There is something about Swerve that I just don’t much care for him and have trouble getting behind him. Is he a face? Is he a heel? He’s good enough in the ring, but the back-and-forth lame-ass booking has killed him for me. MJF, up until the recent comedy garbage with Adam, was on a roll and consistent as a lovable ass-clown. I’ve always been more of a favorite of the heels, the true heels, so I’d be cheering for MJF.
Eric Bischoff was referred to as a “Horrible podcaster” by FTR member Dax Harwood. Pot meet kettle? Thoughts?
I’m a big fan of FTR and I enjoyed Dax’s podcast for the brief time it existed, but he has no room to talk about Bischoff’s podcasting skills. Eric may rely on the “I can’t remember” bit too often, but he’s smart, insightful, and entertaining more often than not. Dax was entertaining enough, but how long did his podcast last? Bischoff has two podcasts, one with Conrad Thompson called 83 Weeks, and one called Strictly Business, both of which have been around for a while and are doing very well. Maybe Eric isn’t one of Dax’s favorites, but the numbers and facts speak for themselves.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
