It’s the PM edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
How will Tyrus be ranked in the history of the NWA World Championship?
While I don’t think that Tyrus was the worst NWA Champion of all time, I don’t think he’ll be ranked among the best either. He is a polarizing figure and had a good run. Not great, but not awful either.
Is the NWA dead?
The NWA is not dead, but it does seem to be on life support sometimes. For example, the NWA had a PPV this past weekend, NWA Paranoia, and while there was plenty of coverage as to the event happening, even now, a week later, I have yet to find a single recap of the show anywhere. And yes, I have been looking. That cocaine scene at the last PPV closed a lot of doors, turned a lot of people off, and scared some people off. It was a stake to the heart and they haven’t recovered yet. The NWA is not dead, but unless some major positive changes happen, it’s on the way.
WWE announced that CM Punk will be part of the Elimination Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia. Thoughts?
I just hope they remember to send him a car at the airport. I can just imagine seeing Punk wandering around Australia, trying to find a ride to the arena. It would be Dejavu epic. As for Punk being part of the Elimination Chamber PLE, he’s a top guy in WWE and this event is a big part of the Road to Wrestlemania. Of course, he’s going to be there. Where else should he be?
Bayley was spotted backstage at TNA Hard to Kill. I remember when the Highlanders showed up in the audience of a TNA show and were fired. Will Bayley get fired as well?
The situation with the Highlander dude was he was in the audience and TNA showed his face and name on TV. It was bad judgment on his part and Vince was the boss then so he got fired. Bayley was there, along with Sasha Banks, to support their friend, Trinity, who is said to be finishing up and will be coming back to WWE soon. It’s a different time and era. Hell, current AEW star Ricky Starks has been backstage at WWE events to support his friend and mentor Cody Rhodes. It’s a different world now and wrestlers support their friends, regardless of company affiliations. If Bayley had been sitting in the front row at the PPV and shown up on the TV several times, I’m sure things would have been different and there would have been consequences. But just to be there and support their friends, it’s not a big deal.
It’s now official that everyone has a podcast. I just found the first episode of Gagne & Magnum, Greg Gagne & Magnum TA together. What the hell? Thoughts?
Dominic DeAngelo is their third man and co-host, but I feel you on this. Greg Gagne and Magnum TA? Who put this team together? I had to go look it up and find out if this was for real and it is. Wow! Just wow! Neither Gagne nor Magnum are great talkers, but I’ll probably give it a chance at some point. This just strikes me as the ultimate odd couple.
Jacqueline Moore recently stated that she still has a little left in the tank and would like to return to WWE. She noted the recent returns of Trish, The Rock, and John Cena. Would you like to see Jacqueline back for one last run?
If Jackie is still in decent shape and wants one more run, who would I be to say no? An appearance at the Royal Rumble would be awesome and fun to see. I’m sure that Jacqueline can still kick some ass.
Lance Archer recently commented that he wanted AEW to bring in his former NXT/NJPW tag team partner Alex Zayne so that he and Zayne can reform their past team, Monster Sauce. Have you heard of this guy and would he be a good addition to the AEW roster?
I don’t know much about this guy, but I did go find some videos on YouTube and got to briefly see Monster Sauce in action. They’re a good team and would do well as part of AEW. Archer needs something to do so why not be part of an established and strong tag team? Works for me.
On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray says that Jack Perry needs to “punch Tony Khan”. Thoughts?
It’s a good idea and would cement Perry as a heel to be taken seriously. It’s hard to picture Tony Khan willingly taking a shot, even a worked one, but if Perry were to confront Tony on TV, demand an explanation from him for the way he was suspended, taken off TV, etc. And then he goes after Tony, someone makes the save, and we have a feud that could be used to get Perry over and taken to the next level.
Kamala the Ugandan Giant for the WWE Hall of Fame. Yes or no?
A definite yes. James Harris, aka Kamala, should have already been there and his induction at some point is a no-brainer in my opinion.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
