It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
Matt & Nick Jackson, aka The Young Bucks, have changed their names in their corporate bios to Matthew and Nicholas Jackson and their team name to The Corporate EVPs. Thoughts?
It’s an interesting twist to the real life personas of Nick and Matt Jackson, adding to their characters and really building on the least popular aspects of their life and personalities. And I’ll admit it. I’m intriugued. It’ll be fun to see how this plays out and if it makes The Bucks more tolerable or just puts the final nails in the coffin. We’ll have to wait and see.
Darby said on Dynamite last night that he and Sting will become AEW World Tag Team Champions. Thoughts?
So, a round-about way to put the titles on The Young Bucks, who are wrestling Sting & Darby in Sting’s last match? I don’t have any objections to having Sting go out on top as a champion, but this just seems rushed to me. It essentially buries Ricky Starks & Big Bill, who definitely deserve better, plus doesn’t make sense at all to me. Sting & Darby don’t need the belts and by putting them in this match, you’re damn either way. Sting loses a match, which isn’t going to happen, or Starks & Big Bill get buried, which shouldn’t happen. And the only winners here are Nicholas and Matthew. Go figure.
The Anderson Brothers (Ole & Gene) versus The Vachon Brothers (Mad Dog & Butcher) versus The Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray) versus Dick the Bruiser & Crusher in a Fatal 4-Way Match. Who wins?
What an awesome and brutal match this would be. It would have to be a no-contest because to be honest, with the massive egos involved in this match, no one would be willing to take the fall and do the job. Actually, I think Stevie Ray & Booker T would be willing to take the fall and do the honors. So we know who’s going to lose, but who wins? Probably Dick the Bruiser and Crusher.
Black Taurus has signed a deal with AEW/ROH. However, he will have to drop the “Taurus” moniker and possibly alter his appearance. Thoughts?
Mantaur Jr? Big Black Cow? Black Bull? I’m sure that he’ll end up figuring out something since he has all the Creative minds that is AEW behind him. Black Moo? It sucks that Black Taurus may have to change his character, but that’s the way the business works these days. AAA owns the rights to the name and character, so even though Taurus Original has played the character for several years. They’ll figure out something.
Do you remember a wrestler called The Rochester Roadblock or am I just imagining things? I think he worked for WCW.
I do remember this guy. He worked for a while in Tony Rumble’s IWCCW promotion and did a few spots for early ECW. Roadblock, real name Joseph D’Acquisto, was a jobber for WCW for a while, and then wrestled for the Japanese promotion W*ing. He retired in 2012 and is now retired.
Do star ratings matter?
Only to the people who make them. Ratings is a matter of subjective opinion, nothing more and nothing less. For some of us, we prefer to look and see for themselves and make up our own minds.
Ryback makes a lot of noise online, but he’s never made a comeback. Why not?
Ryback has not wrestled since 2008 and despite teasing comebacks every so often, has made no attempts to actually return to the ring. I don’t know if he’s medically unable to compete or just full of crap. Maybe it’s a combination of both. I think Ryback just likes to talk and stir the pot, because essentially, that’s all he does.
Seth Rollins versus DDP. Who wins?
In their primes, this would be a fun back and forth match. It’s a tough call for sure. I think Seth would take the win at the end.
So which match was better? Seth versus Jinder or Samoa Joe versus Hook?
The Hook versus Samoa Joe match was better than I expected it to be. It showed some fire for Hook and even though he spent 90% of the match getting beaten and tossed around like a rag doll, has come out better in the end. Seth versus Jinder was more by the numbers and had a lot of back and forth. It was a good solid match and more than once, it felt like Jinder was going to defy the odds and win the belt. I never had that feeling during the entire Hook/.Joe match. Seth versus Jinder was actually the better match of the two. Joe/Hook had it’s moments, but WWE won this round with the better match.
So, Nick Aldis uses his power as the General Manager of Smackdown to make himself the #1 Contender and wrestle Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship? Yes or no?
It’d be a great swerve and fun to see. Aldis versus Roman? Book it, Aldis.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
