Just keep on keeping on. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
When referring to Jordynne Grace and her appearance at the Royal Rumble and working with TNA to make it happen, Triple H said that he “won’t use any clichéd terms about what door people go through (referring to AEW’s Forbidden Door) because it’s stupid and silly”. A shot at Tony Khan and AEW?
Of course it was and it was a good one. Subtle, but to the point, as a good verbal jab should be.
The character change with the Bucks is a missed opportunity to make money and would’ve been better if Punk had still been in AEW. Yes or no?
If Punk was still in AEW, none of this would have mattered because The Young Bucks are children and wouldn’t work an angle with Punk. Children don’t worry about helping the company they’re with because jealousy and pettiness are the decision-makers, not good business sense or professionalism. Change is usually good, but when the Bucks are involved, it’s a moot point.
What do you think Tony Khan’s reaction to his two lost stars, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, closing the show and doing so well at The Royal Rumble, will be? Meltdown or will he just not comment?
I keep watching to see if he’s going to comment, but thus far, he hasn’t said anything. I guess common sense and good judgment have prevailed, for a change. I’m sure he wasn’t a happy camper.
Jade Cargill officially made her WWE debut as part of the Rumble match. How did she do in your opinion, rating her on a scale of 1-10?
I think she did very well and looked like a star. It was a great debut for the former AEW star. Cargill was presented as a big star and she delivered with the big spots and big moments. On a scale of 1-10, I’ll give her a big 8.
So do you think Tony Khan, The Young Bucks, or Max Caster will have anything to say about Vince stepping down from WWE in their upcoming television promos this week or will they take the high road and just ignore it to focus on AEW instead?
I hope that good sense and judgment will prevail and the stars of AEW, as well as the owner, will stick to their product and what’s going on in AEW. That’s what I hope, but I’m sure that before it’s all said and done, we’ll hear jokes, comments, one-liners, and innuendo from every person you mentioned. It’s too easy and it’s low-hanging fruit. They’ll be talking and getting in their shots sooner rather than later.
Ivan Koloff versus Miro. Who wins?
Miro is a beast and damn good, but Uncle Ivan, in his prime, was a wrestling machine. Ivan wins, as he should.
Were you satisfied with the ending of the Men’s Rumble match with Cody winning the match over CM Punk to continue his story?
It was a good Rumble and the ending was the right call. Cody earned it and while I would have been happy with either man taking the victory, I think having Cody be the man was the best way to go.
Vince is gone now from TKO/WWE, but several people who were considered Vince’s stooges, like Bruce Prichard & Michael Hayes are still around. Do you think TKO will end up getting rid of them as well?
I don’t know about Hayes, but Bruce Prichard is probably walking on eggs and a very nervous guy right now, jumping every time the phone rings or someone knocks at his office door. Bruce has long been Vince’s loyal stooge, second only to Johnny Ace, and he knows where the bodies are buried and everything that happens in the shadows of WWE. As TKO learns more, I think Prichard’s time is numbered.
Chris Candido never really had the opportunity to shine on the main stage in WWF and WCW. However, his peers and fans knew that Candido was a technical master in the ring. Thoughts on Chris Candido?
Candido used the catchphrase, “No Gimmicks Needed”, and it fit him well. Candido was a good worker, and a good talker, and if he hadn’t been saddled with a very manipulative piece of baggage he called his girlfriend, he could have been so much more. A nice guy from all reports, albeit a little naive. If he had a little more size to him, he could have been a top guy in any promotion. The potential was endless. RIP, Chris Candido.
Would WWE ever return the favor by sending one of their own to TNA as a return as Jordyn Grace has come over?? Maybe the possibilities of AJ Styles? Or let’s say one of The Usos?
I think this could be the start of a good partnership. If WWE has a talent, Jinder Mahal for example, that they’re paying and not using much, why not lease them out to TNA, where TNA can use the talent, build the character, and feature them, instead of paying them to sit at home or in catering. And every so often, TNA can do the same with some of their talents, having them show up on NXT and helping there. It’d be a win-win for everyone involved and add to the argument that anything can happen in pro wrestling. It could be really fun.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
