It’s the best damn Wrestling Q&A, period. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your host, Doug. Let’s roll.
Does Dirty Dutch Mantell belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
If we were just talking about his two runs in the WWE, as Uncle Zebekiah and Zeb Colter, I would say probably not. But when you figure in his career in Memphis, Crockett, Puerto Rico, WCW, TNA, etc, as a wrestler, a commentator, and a booker, plus the great success of his two books and his podcast, The World According To Dutch, I would say yes.
Vince Russo recently predicted that within the next year, TKO will clean the house of all Vince McMahon associates, including Triple H. Thoughts?
It could happen, but I doubt it. Unless something shows up implicating him directly, I think (hope) Triple H is safe.
Greater WCW Television Champion: Alex Wright or Disco Inferno?
I keep forgetting that Das Wunderkind Alex Wright even held the Television Championship. I do, however, remember Disco’s reign. So that kind of answers itself, doesn’t it?
Ava has left X (Twitter) due to toxic fans and their harassment. Thoughts?
Wrestling fans are some of the most passionate fans in the world. They’re also some of the most toxic. The attacks on Ava for something she has absolutely nothing to do with were stupidity and insanity at its worst. I’m sorry that she’s having to endure those idiots.
Madusa versus Rhea Ripley. Who wins?
Madusa was a wrestling icon and legend. There is no doubt about that. But wrestling has evolved so much since her time in the ring, and Rhea has evolved beyond so many other women, it’s almost kind of scary. Mami is always on top. Rhea wins.
One Man Gang versus Viscera. Who wins?
I would hope that the ring has been reinforced. That would be a lot of meat in there. I’ll put my money on the One Man Gang.
What were your thoughts toward the end of 1999, when Vince Russo gave Hacksaw Jim Duggan the janitor gig in WCW?
It was one of those moves that didn’t make much sense as it was just Vince Russo’s booking, designed to humiliate an older wrestler who had just returned from cancer surgery and wasn’t 100%. But it did keep him on television and make him sympathetic to the fans, so that’s the plus side of it. It was the Russo era of WCW so all I can do is just shrug my shoulders and move on.
The four best Horsemen versus the four worst Horsemen. Who would be on each team and who would win?
My opinion is and will always be the original Four Horsemen, Ole, Ric, Arn, and Tully) is the best formation of the legendary faction, but I guess this is wanting to pick out the four best individual Horsemen versus the four that didn’t belong and should not have been Horsemen. So with that in mind, my four best Horsemen would be Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, and Chris Benoit. My four worst would be Jeff Jarrett, Paul Roma, Sid Vicious, and Curt Hennig. And if these two teams faced off, Ric, Arn, Barry, and Benoit would walk out the winners.
Goldberg vs. Gunther at WM40. Yes or no?
No. Just no. If Goldberg was to appear at WWE on Mania weekend, let it be on the Monday night after Mania on RAW where he comes to the ring, challenges Gunther, and gets pinned in 14 seconds.
Singer Toby Keith passed away last night. Thoughts & memories of this country music legend?
Toby is mentioned here because of his early appearances in TNA, his long friendship with Jeff Jarrett, and his appearance as a Guest Host on RAW. And what can I say? A fantastic entertainer and singer, a patriot, and from all I’ve ever seen, just a damn good guy. RIP Toby Keith. You will be missed.
