It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Can you just sit and enjoy watching a wrestling match?
I wish I could, but unfortunately, it’s hard to sit and enjoy as just a fan. I spent several years recapping Monday Night Raw and Sunday Night Heat for several websites, including Lords of Pain and The Wrestling Informer, and instead of just enjoying the matches, I would take notes, pay attention to details, and take apart each match as I watched it. Having several friends in the business, I also got into the habit of learning how matches were put together, looking for psychology and spots, and dissecting each match as it happened. Sometimes, the more you know isn’t a good thing. It’s hard to get caught up in a match for the sake of wrestling for me when I’m too busy looking at everything else. Sad, but true.
Lexi King versus Dom Mysterio. Who wins?
This would be fun to see and hopefully, we’ll eventually get to see this match take place. It’s a tough call, but at this point and time, I think Dom would come out on top.
Should Lance Storm have had a run as the WCW World Champion?
It would have been nice to see happen, but with all of the top names who were in WCW at the time, and reigning as the WCW Champion by Storm would have been sabotaged and damaged. It’s probably better for Storm, in the long run, that it didn’t happen.
There are rumors about a possible Hart Family movie, similar to The Iron Claw movie about the Von Erichs. Would you be interested in seeing a movie about The Hart Family?
Yes, I would watch it. It would be interesting to see.
Chris Van Vliet had some great interviews with Chelsea Green & Lance Storm this week. Do you listen to Van Vliet? Who would you like to see him sit down and interview?
Chris Van Vliet has become one of my favorite interviewers. It’s not so much an interview as it’s a conversation to draw people out and learn about each other. The people I’d love to see him sit down with and interview include Lisa Moretti, aka Ivory, Disco Inferno, Alex Wright, Billy Gunn, Mark Briscoe, Alan Angels, Tony Schiavone, and Stevie Richards.
Bully Ray recently stated that he thinks the Roman versus The Rock match at Wrestlemania 40 should be non-title. Thoughts?
It doesn’t look as if we’re getting The Rock versus Roman at Mania, but if by some chance it was to happen, no titles need to be involved. If Rock was to win, he couldn’t defend it regularly and if Roman was to win, what was the point to begin with? Any matches between these two legends should be for respect, pride, and honor, but not for belts and titles.
Bryan Danielson versus Cody Rhodes. Who wins?
Danielson is so banged up these days, that it wouldn’t even be much of a match, but assuming both men were healthy, this would be a fun match. Let’s go for Cody to take the win.
Was the whole “AEW Devil” storyline the biggest flop in Wrestling History?
It was pretty damn bad, but I think the whole Shockmaster debut in WCW will always stand out and take the top spot.
Steve “Mongo” McMichael is going into the Football Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
While Mongo wasn’t the best professional wrestler to ever step into a ring, he was unquestionably one of the toughest men to play professional football. Congratulations to Steve “Mongo” McMichael on an honor well deserved.
Allegedly, Sting was against him and Darby Allin winning the AEW Tag Team Championship. Thoughts?
I’ve already addressed this, but I’ll repeat what I said earlier. It’s a nice gesture, but Sting doesn’t need a title, and putting the straps on him and Darby just complicates the story. Sting knows this, but it seems that no one else in AEW realizes it. This either leads to the egos of the EVPs winning the titles, spoiling the mood at Sting’s retirement, or a tournament. I know AEW and Tony Khan love tournaments, but still, why? Like I said, it’s a nice gesture, but unnecessary.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, questions, and thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up and close shop for the day. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
