And here we go with the second edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A of the day. The questions have piled up and I’m trying to clean out the mailbox. There will probably be at least one more edition up later in the day so watch for it. I’m Doug and never forget, I do this for you. And now, let’s talk pro wrestling. Let’s roll.
Is it too late to build Jimmy Uso versus Jey Uso for Wrestlemania? It seems to me that they’ve lost the story.
It does seem that way, doesn’t it? Jey seems to be headed towards a confrontation with Gunther, while Jimmy is waiting in the background with the Roman/Rock/Bloodline situation. But that being said, we still have nearly six weeks until Wrestlemania and all it would take is one confrontation on television or at the Elimination Chamber to get Uso versus Uso back on track. With a potential match like that, it’s never too late to get it promoted and booked.
When asked about another match, Steve Austin said, “Never say never!” So if Austin comes back for “one last match”, who would you want to see him wrestle against?
The most obvious choice is CM Punk, but I wouldn’t say no to one more Austin versus The Rock moment with Triple H as the guest referee.
The Undertaker versus Macho Man Randy Savage. Who wins?
Did these two ever have a feud? I honestly can’t remember, but I’m sure they faced off at least once or twice. I think I’d have to go with The Undertaker on this one.
Does Baby Doll (Nikla Roberts) belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Yes! She’s an awesome person who played a strong role in the Tully-Dusty feuds of the 80s, plus the formation of The Four Horsemen. And she continues to be a presence even today. She’s an icon and her legacy as part of the NWA speaks for itself.
Who is the greatest wrestling villain of all time?
Of all time covers a lot of ground and there are so many names to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll give it a shot. The first name that comes to mind is Mr. McMahon. He played the role on television and as we’re finding out now, he wasn’t much better in real life. So there you go. Mr. McMahon.
Bret Hart versus Nick Aldis. Who wins?
With both men in their prime, I’ll go with Bret Hart.
What happened to Adam Cole? He was so good in NXT and now, he’s essentially a joke in AEW. What happened?
What happened is that he went from a place with structure, competent management, and experienced writers and bookers, to a mud-show promotion run by a delusional, inexperienced billionaire with little knowledge or experience of the world of professional wrestling. He went from a business to a playground with his friends.
Matt Riddle recently said that he’s been in contact with TNA. Would you like to see Riddle as part of the Impact Zone and TNA?
I like Riddle and he’s a good wrestler. I’m not crazy about the whole “Bro” gimmick, but the guy has the skills and the personality to be a top guy. TNA would be a good place for him to showcase his skills and work.
In the near or distant future, do you think AEW will ever join TKO? And what would that do for the wrestling world?
I don’t think AEW will ever join TKO. If TKO were to take over AEW, be it due to the loss of Tony Khan or for whatever reason, it would only be so TKO could purchase the video library and maybe a few contracts. AEW, as an entity, would cease to exist. So long as Tony Khan has any say, TKO and AEW will forever remain separate.
The Corre (Heath Slater, Ezekial, Justin Gabriel, Bad News Barrett) versus The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh. Who wins?
What a match this would be. It would reek of awesomeness. I don’t know what has happened with Big Zeke, but I’d love to see Gabriel, now wrestling as PJ Black, and Heath back in the WWE. So far as this match goes, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for the Corre, with their two “R’s”. The Judgment Day would come out on top.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. I have to go do stuff. I’ll be back later with more of the Q&A though so look for it. Take care and stay well, my friends. Watch out for the sneaky Japanese manager with the handful of salt. I’ll see you at the matches.
