You have questions and I have the answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A, where I keep it real and nothing is off limits. I’m your host, Doug, and this is where the magic happens. Let’s roll.

The Rock is now officially part of The Bloodline. Thoughts?

From a story perspective, it makes sense, but one has to wonder how long this will last. The Rock demands the spotlight and tends to overshadow the rest of the group with his mere presence, especially Roman. A tribe can’t have two Chiefs and with both Roman and The Rock in the picture, that’s exactly what they have. It will be interesting to see how this develops as we get closer to Mania.

Stephanie McMahon is now alleged to have known about and helped to cover up the Ashley Massaro assault. Thoughts?

I have no doubts that she knew about the alleged assault on Massaro. That would have been impossible to not know of, given her position in the company. But I’m thinking that most likely, Vince and others higher on the food chain probably assured her that they were taking care of the situation and it wasn’t something for her to worry or think about. And trusting her father and other officials to do the right thing, she left it to them and moved on to other aspects of her job instead. If she believed that Vince was handling things, why would she inject herself into the matter? It’s pretty simple. She wouldn’t.

Michael P.S. Hayes versus Sammy Guevera. Who wins?

Sammy is one of my favorites and he’s a good wrestler, but he’s not consistent and relies too much on the high spots and crazy stunts. Hayes would control the match, ground Sammy, and then take him on a tour of Badsteet, USA. Hayes wins.

If you lost your passion for wrestling, could you do your job?

My actual paying job of selling liquor and providing excellent customer service to the people of Laurinburg, NC? Sure thing. No problem. My “other job” on this website, providing insight and opinion on wrestling and life in general, all from a Dougie perspective. Probably not. My love of pro wrestling is one of the only bad habits I’ve held on to as I’ve gotten older. I’ve given up drinking (mostly), comics (mostly), and young dudes (mostly). Writing and wrestling are all I have left and wrestling is a great thing to write about. It’s never boring and the best entertainment in the world. So take away the wrestling and this site would be gone as well.

Who takes the pin in the hypothetical Rock and Reigns vs Cody and Rollins tag match?

If this happens, Cody takes the pin, only to redeem himself the next night when he defeats Roman to win the Universal WWE Championship at Night 2 of Mania.

AEW stars are said to be frustrated over the declining attendance & ratings, and Tony Khan’s “It’s great!” attitude. Thoughts?

They’re realizing what is obvious to everyone, but Tony Khan. Things are not great and many issues need to be addressed. Just because Tony tells everyone that a jar of piss is champagne doesn’t make it true. The AEW talents are realizing that the Emperor has no clothes despite his claims otherwise and they’re tired of being treated like idiots when they point out the obvious.

If Triple H gets removed from WWE, who takes his place?

This is a good question because the obvious ties to Vince are there and despite the excellent job Hunter is doing with WWE, there is always the possibility of TKO deciding to just remove everyone who’s connected to Vince in any fashion if things were to get worse and blow up with this lawsuit. If Hunter goes, most likely his top allies, Road Dogg, HBK, William Regal, etc., would be removed as well. I guess that TKO would reach out and find someone like Scott D’Amore and offer him a job. Maybe Konnan? I’m sure that TKO has feelers out there and probably a list of names, just in case something happens with Hunter. Let’s just hope it never comes to that.

Thoughts on Brad Armstrong?

An incredible wrestler and talent who could always connect with the other wrestlers and always had great matches, but could never find that right gimmick or character to get over with management and be presented on the main event level. I don’t get it though. Armstrong was charismatic and easily one of the best in-ring performers in WCW or wrestling in general for that matter, but the only time he was ever pushed as a top guy and it worked was in Georgia when Ole Anderson was the booker and just pushed him as Brad Armstrong. Brad wasn’t the biggest dude and I think that held him back a lot. But Buzzkill? Really? I think Brad was just ahead of his time. In today’s world, he’d be at the top of the card in AEW or TNA. Maybe if they had tried a tag team role for him, much like they did with Ricky Morton and the Rock & Roll Express? I guess we’ll never know and it’s too bad because Brad was good. Damn good.

Should Bayley versus Iyo Sky be the headline match for Night One of Wrestlemania? If not, then who?

Iyo and Bayley will be a good match, but the match is not big enough and the two ladies are not over enough to be the top match of a night of Wrestlemania. If it’s to be a Woman’s Match as the main event of Night One, the obvious match would be Rhea Ripley against either Becky Lynch or Bianca Belair, whichever one wins the Elimination Chamber. Or Seth defending his title against Drew or whoever wins the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. Both Rhea and Seth are over like Rover and if they still have their titles at Mania, one of those two should be in the featured match of the night.

Chad Gable has only wrestled one televised match in 2024. Is WWE dropping the ball with the former Olympian?

I guess that with all of the craziness going on right now, with the Rock, with the injuries to Seth and Punk, and the stacked roster backstage as WWE builds to the Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania, Gable has just gotten lost in the shuffle. And it is a shame because he was on fire for a while there and deserves better. Yes, WWE is dropping the ball. Hopefully, someone in WWE Creative will realize this and things will pick up again soon for Gable and the rest of his group. One can only hope.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. Come find me on X at @Doug28352. And with that, let’s wrap things up. I need to go fold some clothes. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for the Cody Crybabies and I’ll see you at the matches.
