It’s the second play of a double-dip day. It’s the #2 edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and I’m your guiding light. Let’s roll.
Bron Breakker has been promoted to the main roster, do you see him and Corbin still being together and defending the NXT tag titles to give the SmackDown teams something to fight for being the tag belts are mostly on Raw?
I’m hoping that’s the plan. Corbin & Breakker are a good and interesting tag team and since they’re the champs, why not have them work both NXT and Smackdown, much like Dominik did when he was the NXT North American Champion? It’s the same basic idea and it works.
How would you call up and book Dragunov on the main roster? Straight into the Gunther feud or something else?
The rivalry and history between Dragunov and Gunther is there and most WWE fans know about it so that would be an excellent way to start things off for Dragunov when he makes the transition to the main roster. Start with something big, Gunther, and then proceed from there.
With TNA doing less than 90K viewers in the ratings, are they a viable TV quality promotion, or should they be classed as the Indies? Side note – Big Little Brawlers is beating AEW in TV ratings and social media followers. Is BLB the 2nd biggest wrestling promotion?
TNA is a viable promotion due to its history and long existence. They have good TV and the live shows do well. Those reasons alone, plus the quality of talent, make them more than just another Indy promotion. As for the other point, the numbers speak for themselves. AEW is the bigger company, but the little guys are the bigger promotion. At least in my opinion.
Do you get the feeling that The Rock could be secretly plotting to either take over The Bloodline from Roman Reigns (much like he did with Nation of Domination) or, perhaps turn on Roman to help Cody win at Wrestlemania?
It would make sense from a storyline perspective and would allow Rock to do a face-turn once the swerve is revealed. It seems a bit too obvious to me, but if this is the case, I won’t complain.
If Papa H gave you the reigns to book 1 Wrestlemania match of your choice this year, what would you choose?
Using the current WWE roster and trying to not disrupt the current plans for Mania, my match would be one I mentioned a few days ago on this site. How about Dominik Mysterio, with JD McDonagh in his corner, versus Stone Cold Steve Austin? And are you ready for the swerve? Dom wins after JD and Rhea get involved and help him out. Imagine the heat that Dom would get if he stole a win over Austin. Then, the next night on RAW, Austin could team with R-Truth and they could stomp mudholes in Dom & JD’s collective asses and Steve would have his revenge and get his heat back, so everyone wins. And there you go.
When would you have Priest cash in? I’ve heard some either post-Cody win or next night while he’s thanking those who believed. Would give mega heat to Priest, but could he handle that spotlight?
I think it depends on how things go with Seth and his match. If Seth wins and retains his title, have Priest come out and cash in at Mania, stealing the moment from Seth and becoming the new champion. If Drew wins, then I’d go with the next night on RAW to see Priest give it a try. I’d keep Priest away from Cody and that championship, at least for a while. Give Cody a chance to enjoy the moment and have a little time before having to worry about Priest and anyone else not part of the Bloodline.
Who do you get taking the final spot in the women’s Elimination Chamber?
As we found out this past Monday night, it was the returning Raquel Rodriguez who won a Battle Royal and secured that final spot. I was hoping for Chelsea Green, but despite coming so close, it was not her day.
Dominik Mysterio recently stated that he doesn’t know what his plans are yet for Wrestlemania. So, how about this? Dominik versus Stone Cold Steve Austin? Thoughts?
I just spoke on this earlier and yes, I’d love to see this match happen.
How would you feel about Big E transitioning to commentary? I feel he did a great job at the Kickoff show.
Big E has charisma and personality so moving him into a commentary role while he determines his future seems like it would be a good move. He did well at the Vegas event and I think he could fit in well at the announce table.
If we do get a triple threat at WrestleMania between Priest, Rollins, and Zayn, how do you think Zayn will make it into the match seeing as he’s currently not in the Elimination Chamber?
I like Sami, but I don’t want to see Seth in a triple-threat match defending his title. Also, I don’t want to see Priest as part of the title match. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of having the Money In The Bank contract. It doesn’t seem that WWE is going in that direction and Seth will be facing the winner of the Elimination Chamber, most likely Drew McIntyre. I do hope that Sami gets a match at Mania and has some good moments, but I don’t think he will be involved in anything with Seth.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up and call it a day. I’m still feeling rough today so I’m going back to bed. Stay well, my friends, and watch out for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.
