It’s the second edition of the day of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your guiding light and party host, Doug, and this is where we talk about the King of Sports, all from a Dougie perspective. You have questions and I have the answers. You’re welcome. And now, let’s roll.

If Bobby Roode were to come back for one last match/run, who would you like to see him go against?

Cowboy James Storm or Nic Nemeth would be the ideal opponents, but I noticed something that Roode said in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet. It’s an excellent interview by the way and you should check it out. Roode stated that he’s never faced AJ Styles in a one-on-one singles match. So for a last match, with all of their long history together in TNA, that would be the one. Roode versus AJ Styles. It would be, dare I say it, GLORIOUS!

Corey Graves has been cleared to wrestle. If he comes back for one last match/run, who would you want to see him against?

The easy answer here, and I think WWE has the same idea because there have already been a few seeds planted, would be Pat McAfee.

Without the whole “I’m Kurt Angle’s son” storyline, could Jason Jordan have been successful?

I think that story hurt him far more than it helped in the big picture of things, but yeah, I think Jordan could have had a better run than he actually did. He had the look and in-ring skills. His biggest problem was the promos and lack of charisma, but with work and some tweaks to his character, those issues could have been overcome. He had the skills in the ring, but the dumb stuff like the Angle-connection, it backfired and was a huge monkey on his back.

Hulk Hogan says he had the chance to become “the next John Wayne” but decided to stay in wrestling. Thoughts?

I think Hogan might be stretching the truth here just a slight bit, as he’s often prone to do. I’m trying to picture Hogan, dressed like John Wayne, and it’s just not working for me, brother. I just can’t see it at all.

What is your Mt. Rushmore of Canadian Wrestlers?

Right off the top of my head, I’d go with Dino Bravo, Bret Hart, Lance Storm, and Edge/Christian. I have a hard time keeping those last two apart in my mind so they’d have to have a composite head on the Canadian Mt. Rushmore. It would reek of awesomeness.

Monty Brown versus Bobby Lashley. Who wins?

Monty Brown? I had totally forgotten about this guy. He was in TNA for a good run and part of the WWECW as Marquis Cor Von. He was black, bald, and a powerhouse. Now I get why the proposed match-up is against Bobby Lashley. These two guys have so much in common. (Rolls eyes!) Brown wasn’t in the business long, roughly about seven years, and while he had a good run, he wasn’t all that. Lashley is The All Mighty and even competed at the Elimination Chamber event in Perth yesterday. Lashley would win.

You’re booking an Elimination Chamber match with six wrestlers from any era. Who are the wrestlers involved and who wins?

Right off the top of my head, my six stars would be Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel, Stan Hansen, Vader, The Masked Superstar, and Jerry “The King” Lawler. I’d have Masked Superstar win.

Same question, but with women wrestlers. Who are the ladies in the Elimination Chamber and who wins?

My ladies would be Rhea Ripley, Trish Stratus, Sherri Martel, Madusa, Ivory, and Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon). And my winner would be Sensational Queen Sherri Martel.

Coming up at AEW Revolution is a “Meat Madness Match” with Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Lance Archer. Yes, they’re calling it that. Who do you think will win, and if you were the booker, who would you have won?

It’s things like this that make me scratch my head at AEW. Meat Madness Match? Really? If the fans gave it the name, that would be different, but for the promotion to stick such a name on a match? Does the winner get a box of steaks? Maybe a live cow to slaughter after the show ends? It’s just weird. Of the three men involved, Wardlow should win. And if I was the booker, that’s who I’d go with as well. Have a strong match and let Archer and Hobbs get their spots in and look strong, but Wardlow should be the man to walk out on top. AEW should also bring in Shawn Stasiak, aka “Meat” in as a guest announcer or special referee to add to the flavor of this match. It literally has his name on the Marquee so why not? Makes sense to me.

Disco Inferno versus LA Knight. Who gets the bigger pop from the crowd? Who wins?

I think that Disco, in his prime, would get a bigger pop from the live audience. People forget now, but Disco was over and got some of the best reactions from the live audience in WCW. He was also a damn good wrestler. LA Knight should get the win in the match itself as he’s constantly being presented as the bigger star, but the match would be good and both men would come out strong in such an encounter.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. The sun is beginning to peak through the window and I need to go to bed for a couple of hours. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
