It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and that is all the people need to know. I’m your Guiding Light and party host, Doug. And now, let’s roll.
Kevin Nash elaborated on not being able to attend Sting’s last match. He’s NOT under contract to WWE, but considers himself a WWE guy and isn’t going out of respect for Triple H. Thoughts?
Why doesn’t he just say he doesn’t want to go instead of making excuses and trying to justify not being there? Triple H isn’t going to care if Nash goes to Sting’s retirement match. Nash was at Flair’s “Last Match” and no one raised an eyebrow or said a thing. He’s not going out of respect for Triple H, but what does this say about his respect for Sting? Nash should just admit he doesn’t want to go and leave it at that. He has to wash his hair or tear a quad or something. Oy vey!
Meltzer: “For whatever reason, you know, umm, you know, poor people don’t like AEW.” Thoughts?
Who can afford the $60 for each PPV when they can watch WWE, a promotion with stories, structure, and far better matches and wrestlers, for ten bucks a month on The Network/Peacock? If poor people don’t like AEW, it’s because AEW costs too much for a sub-par product. And Meltzer is an idiot.
According to former WWE star Tyler Reks, the rift between John Cena and Alex Riley is because of a very drunken Riley refusing to “get on the bus” with Cena. Thoughts?
It’s an interesting theory and maybe it’s true. But then again, maybe it’s not. Only Cena and Riley know for sure what the reasons for their beef truly are. Anything else is just speculation and nothing more.
Who wins the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in an Elimination Chamber with these legends of wrestling in this unfamiliar match?
Ric Flair vs Bruno Sammartino vs Antonio Rocca vs “Superstar” Billy Graham vs Andre The Giant vs Harley Race.
It’s an interesting mix and none of these men would be, in my opinion, comfortable in an Elimination Chamber match. I don’t see Andre or Rocca winning. It wouldn’t be Flair either. Bruno? Maybe, but that just doesn’t feel right to me. So it’s Harley or Superstar Graham. Let’s go with Superstar Billy Graham for this one.
Ole Anderson passed away today. Thoughts and memories of the original Rock?
Only two other celebrity deaths have made me cry. Joan Rivers, Waylon Jennings, and now Ole Anderson. Ole was such a great heel. One half of arguably the greatest tag team of the 70s, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew with “brother” Gene, Ole was a force to be reckoned with. When he cut a promo, you believed every word. An amazing in-ring talent, and even more important and successful as the booker for Crockett and Georgia Championship Wrestling. For a time, he booked both territories at the same time and both were on fire and hot with great crowds and making money. Very blunt, Ole was wrestling’s original “Grumpy Old Man”, but love him or hate him, he demanded respect and was one of the all-time best. Legend is a term often overused and overrated, but when you’re talking about wrestling’s original “Rock”, it’s very fitting indeed. Rest in Peace, Ole Anderson. You will be missed.
Do you miss Jungle Boy/Jack Perry in AEW?
Truthfully, I had forgotten about him and that he was even gone. No, I don’t miss him. Now, go cry me a river.
If Chyna never passed away, assuming that WWE was on good terms with her, what would’ve been her retirement match? Face or Heel?
Chyna was born in 1969 so she’d be 54 years old right now and most likely a babyface in every appearance, given her history and the nostalgia factor. So just imagining her coming back to WWE for “one last match” at Wrestlemania 40, I’d book her probably against either Nia Jax or Shayna Baszler. And of course, Chyna would win and go out on top.
What is your honest overall opinion on Nia Jax’s second run back in WWE thus far?
So far, I think she’s done well. She hasn’t had any major botches in her matches and the match against Rhea at the Elimination Chamber was probably the best match of her career. She’s no Awesome Kong or Bull Nakano so far as working as a bigger woman in WWE goes, but I think she’s been booked well and is working harder and has come a long way since her first run with the company.
Shawn Spears is back in WWE/NXT. Thoughts?
We all knew, when his AEW contract expired, that it was just a matter of time. Spears is very close to Cody Rhodes and his presence will add a lot to the NXT roster until it’s time to bring him up to the main roster. It’s good to see him back with WWE and I think this was a very positive career move for the “Perfect 10”.
Booker T recently said that he’d be willing to think about it and possibly attend Sting’s last match. Thoughts?
Booker is under contract to WWE and is one of the regular announcers for the Kickoff Shows and NXT. Unless it’s just to hang out backstage and not be mentioned or shown on TV, I can’t see this happening. WWE would never allow it, nor should they. Booker may be willing to “think about it”, but it won’t happen.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
