My name is Doug and I’m your Guiding Light and Party Host. This is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. And that’s all the people need to know. Let’s roll.
Paul Heyman has been announced as the first Inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Thoughts?
What can be said? It’s long overdue and well deserved. Congratulations to the ECW Overlord and Wise Man of the Bloodline for this honor.
So Seth says no to the Night One Tag Match with Cody against The Rock & Roman Reigns and WWE brings in a ringer, Stone Cold Steve Austin as Cody’s partner instead. Yes or no?
This would have been cool to happen, but unless something happens to Seth now, the plans are in place to have Seth/Cody versus The Rock/Roman on Night One. But a match of this magnitude might need a special referee, right? How about Triple H asserting his influence and appointing Stone Cold Steve Austin to the role for this match? That’d be cool, right?
Who should be the man to induct Paul Heyman into the Hall of Fame?
It’s a tough call because there are so many people who could be brought in to fill this role, but the most likely choices in my opinion would be either Roman Reigns or CM Punk.
Trish Stratus recently said that she’d love to step into the ring with Rhea Ripley. So Rhea versus Trish? Yes or no?
Based on what Trish did in that cage match last year against Lita, where she looked incredible, I would support seeing Trish come back and challenge Rhea. It would be fun to see.
With Cash Wheeler now being officially charged with a 3rd-degree felony in FL, aggravated assault with a weapon, shouldn’t TK pull him from the active roster until after the trial?
That is entirely up to Tony Khan, but given that FTR is essentially being buried on AEW television more often than not these days, I think they’re being punished enough.
Mike Santana is gone from AEW. Thoughts?
An AEW original, Santana hasn’t been used on AEW television in over a year except for that brief program against former long-time partner Ortiz. AEW is such a mess at times, I truly forgot he was even there or part of the roster. Santana can most likely head back to TNA or to AAA and work so it’s not a big deal. He’s a good wrestler and has good charisma. He’ll be fine.
According to some sources, several fans were hit by shards of shattered glass at ringside from Darby’s falling through a sheet of glass at Sting’s last match. Thoughts?
It was a meaningless spot and just stupid in my opinion. It added nothing to the match and despite Darby’s apparent death wish, now fans have been injured as well. It was just a bad judgment spot for AEW and if they end up getting sued because of their carelessness, so be it. It was the biggest dark mark on an otherwise decent farewell to a true legend and icon. I just hope the cuts and injuries suffered by the fans aren’t serious and that they’re well compensated for their unnecessary pain and suffering.
Barry Windham versus Damian Priest. Who wins?
Barry, in his prime, was an amazing performer. Priest is an exceptional talent as well. This would be a fantastic match. I think Priest would end up stealing a victory and getting the win.
Mick Foley’s goal is to lose 100 lbs by next year so he could have one final match (a Death Match). Should that match happen in AEW?
It would have to happen in either AEW or maybe GCW because WWE wouldn’t allow it or promote it. WWE has enough common sense and protocols in place to protect people like Foley from themselves and he wouldn’t be able to be medically cleared. AEW doesn’t seem to be quite as concerned about things like this, as proven by that Darby spot at AEW Revolution, and would not only allow this match but would probably feature it as the top match in a PPV event. So yeah, most likely if this match does happen, it will be in AEW.
Do you think that was Sting’s last match?
Unless Triple H takes the advice of Bully Ray and manages to convince The Undertaker to come out of retirement for one last match and makes the offer to Sting, I think this is it. Sting is already 64 years old and I think he’s serious about getting off the road and staying retired. Unless it’s for the big money and Undertaker, I think this is it.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for grown men falling through plates of glass, real glass, and I’ll see you at the matches.
