Some tricks just go away
And other tricks, they’re to stay
Sometimes, the spirits willing
The flesh is weak and that’s what killing

Yes, I’m in a mood tonight as I channel a little Alice Cooper. I just feel so damn alone. I’m not and I know it, but I can’t help how I feel sometimes. Every day is a fight and struggle, but truthfully, I’m just too damn tired to care right now. I don’t do drugs and I rarely drink, but sometimes I wish I did, just to numb the soul and take away the anxiety and pain. All I can do is grit my teeth, put on a fake smile, and write. Writing is my escape and therapy. It’s not as good as having a warm body to hold close, feel warmth and comfort, and draw the bad feelings away, but it’s all I have. It’s all I’ll ever have.

Let’s stop with the woe-is-me stuff now. No one wants to hear that shit. No one cares. Let’s just do the whole Day of Dougie thing and write about some random stuff instead. Does that sound like a plan or what? So let’s get the Magic Bag and draw something from it. The topics of discussion for today are Sins, Serial Killers, and Godzilla versus King Kong. This should be fun. And now that I know what I’m going to write about, let’s stop the chit-chat and just do it.

Sins

I once listened to a preacher man talk about Sins. Want to know what he said? He was against them. Yeah, sins are bad, but no one is without sin. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes and screw up. The thing is to not let the sins control us and make us think any less of ourselves. There is always hope. There is always redemption. Just because a person screws up sometimes doesn’t make them any less of a person. It just means they’re human. God is said to love the sinner, but hate the sins. So at least I know someone still loves me, despite my flaws, my errors, and my sins. I’m not perfect. I’m not even close. I’m just me.

Serial Killers

I have a project that I’ve been working on for years and it concerns serial killers. I had a script and story outlined, but in a moment of depression, anxiety, and angst, I deleted it, forever gone. But the idea is still in my head and it wouldn’t take much to rewrite and recreate the concept that has haunted me for years. I want to do a musical presentation about serial killers. A young, wannabe serial killer is brought before a panel of three legendary and famous mass-murdering serial killers. He makes his case as to why he wants to join them. They tell their stories and listen to his plea. All put to song and music. If I can get my focus on track and find a musical collaborator, this could be a big deal and it would work. I think I know a musical guy. Two of them to be honest. I think I need to talk to some people. It would be bloody freaking incredible. ‘Nuff said!

Godzilla versus King Kong

In the original movie, there were two endings made. In the version shown in Japan, Godzilla won. In the version released in America, King Kong won the battle. Nothing against Kong, but Godzilla is the bigger and worse monster. Hell, he even had a movie called, ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’. I’ll put my money on the giant lizard with the radioactive bad breath against the giant monkey any day of the week. Kong may have the first name of King, but Godzilla will always be the true King of the Monster Ring in my opinion. Believe that!

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, questions, or suggestions for topics to add to the Magic Bag for possible use in a future Day of Dougie are welcome and appreciated. And with that, I’m through for now. Take care and be well. I’ll see you at the Laundromat.
