It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your party host and Guiding Light, but you can just call me Doug. You have questions and I have the answers. Let’s roll.

Jon Moxley versus Ole Anderson. Who wins?

Moxley is an okay wrestler who likes to refuse to sell spots and bleed. Ole is an old-school shooter who makes you sell regardless of whether you want to or not and doesn’t like anyone. It’d be a good brawl and I expect that Moxley might end up with a dislocated shoulder or elbow. Ole wins.

Is Hook lightning in a bottle or a fart in a coffee can?

Interesting analogy there. I like it. I’ll go with the first description. Hook is a talented performer who, if trained and used correctly, could be a future star. Unfortunately, he’s used the AEW way, with matches against guys who are at the same level as him, forgotten about for months at a time, and only wrestling 2-3 times a month at best so he’s not improving. But he has the potential and could be big one day. Lightning in a bottle for sure.

Paul Wight, fka The Big Show, is teasing a return to the ring and future matches. Thoughts?

Have you seen the man? His legs look awful and he can barely move more often than not. He does not need to be getting into the ring and trying to have matches. He just needs to enjoy life, do some commentary, and maybe start a podcast, before moving on to the next part of his career. No wrestling though. Oy vey!

Logan Paul versus Pat McAfee versus Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Who wins?

Three non-wrestlers who have all had success in the ring to differing degrees. Pat is a good announcer who can do the wrestling thing while Mongo was a Horseman. In the ring though, Logan Paul has had the best matches and should win.

Why was Jinder Mahal pushed as WWE Champion and Rusev wasn’t?

At the time, WWE had a big plan of expansion for the market in India and Jinder was a huge part of those plans. India has nearly a billion people and Jinder is a solid, credible talent so pushing him to the moon made sense. Rusev was solid as well and had a great run in WWE as well, but the market in Bulgaria isn’t quite as strong and he didn’t have the solid backing behind him that Jinder did. Thus, Jinder gets the push and a run as the WWE Champion while Rusev gets to have Rusev Day instead.

Based on her debut on AEW Dynamite, do you think Mercedes Mone will be successful in AEW?

She’ll make a lot of money and be one of Tony’s favorites for a few weeks, but in the big picture of things, she’s just another body on the roster and won’t make a bit of difference.

Should WWE change the “Warrior Award” to the “Conner the Crusher Award”?

I don’t know if they would, but that’s a great idea and I’d love to see it happen. The Ultimate Warrior was not a good person. Conner the Crusher was an amazing kid and made the best of a bad situation. Who couldn’t help but fall in love with the kid? For an award that is for people who are inspiring and set the bar for being good eggs, naming it after such an awesome young man like Conner makes far more sense.

Big E allegedly suggested a “Meaty Invitational” match for Wrestlemania, a multi-man match with several of the WWE’s bigger stars. So far Bronson Reed, Ivar, and Otis have all expressed interest. Should WWE have this match at Wrestlemania XX?

It sounds good to me, especially if the Andre the Giant Battle Royal is being moved to Smackdown, as it was last year. This can be the Kickoff Show match to give all of the big guys a chance to shine for a few minutes. Two big nights of Mania means that they need two big matches to kick off the shows. A ‘Meaty Invitational’, at least for one of those nights, would be perfect.

If WWE was to start a new version of the Filthy Animals faction, built around Dom Mysterio, who would you pick to be part of the group?

Austin Theory, Grayson Waller, Angel Garza, Humberto, and maybe Liv Morgan are the names that popped into my head.

MJF has been removed from the AEW roster page, as well as the AEW shop page. Thoughts?

With MJF, it’s hard to tell. Is this a swerve to throw the people off and make his return to AEW a true surprise and big event? Did his contract with AEW expire and will he show up to help out Cody on Night 2 of Wrestlemania? He’s been quiet on social media and no one knows for sure. All we can do is watch and see.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for Mami and her patented stink face. I’ll see you at the matches.
