It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Why are you not a fan of Dave Meltzer?

Meltzer is a great wrestling historian, but he’s also an arrogant putz. Meltzer doesn’t even pretend to be a journalist, with his biased one-sided reporting. He doesn’t verify stories before reporting them and when he makes a mistake, which he often does, he skirts the issue, ignores the mistake, or just blatantly lies. And if those aren’t enough reasons, he needs to clean that damn office already. He’s a slob.

Ronda Rousey feels that Endeavor/WWE will need to “completely clean house” to remove Vince McMahon’s influence. What do you think Endeavor should do?

Endeavor/WWE should continue as they are and take the advice of Rousey with a grain of salt. If WWE removed every bit of the Vince McMahon influence, what’s left of WWE? They’d just have to shut the entire company down and rebuild from scratch. I get what Rousey is saying, but she’s wrong. They’ve removed Vince and most of the bad seeds. Now it’s time to move ahead and continue to grow and feature excellent wrestling.

If you didn’t watch the WWF attitude era live, what are your thoughts on it now?

I watched the WWE Attitude Era, as well as the Monday Night Wars, WCW, the NWA, the AWA, World Class, the Crockett and Georgia territories, and every bit of wrestling I could find since I was a small child. The Attitude Era? It rocked!

It’s been 4 years since Cody Rhodes got the neck tattoo. People hated it at first… 4 years later, what do you think of it now? I think it’s helped him with a larger-than-life persona.

I thought it was an ugly tattoo then and I still think it’s an ugly tattoo. I just can’t see tattoos on the face or neck though. It’s just not my thing. All I’ll say about it is if he likes it, more power to him. He has to live with it. Not I.

What was your favorite match from WrestleMania 40?

That main event where Cody finished the story was incredible, and I enjoyed that multi-team tag match where they split up the tag titles again. That was cool. Rhea and Becky were a great match. But my favorite? When Damian Priest cashed in the Money In The Bank contract and beat Drew McIntyre for the World Championship. I legit popped big time for that one.

Dave Meltzer believes that Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock is the plan for WrestleMania 41 next year. Thoughts?

It’s a possibility, but I think we have a ways to go first before we’re thinking about Wrestlemania 41. And if Meltzer believes it, take it with a grain of salt. He’s just speculating. Nothing more.

The greatest storyline in the HISTORY of professional wrestling is __.

There are so many great ones to choose from, but I’ll go with Zbyszko turning on Bruno. People still talk about it 44 years later and Larry has been riding on the heat from that heel turn the entire time. That feud made Zbyszko from a mid-card tag team guy into a “Living Legend”.

The Rock’s WWE run is now complete. What did you think of The Rock’s work as The Final Boss?

I think The Rock did far more than I was expecting and did an excellent job. When he first came back, I groaned more than anything else, but he found his groove and did the work and it all worked out very well. Now with the split of the Bloodline, I’m interested in seeing Rock come back and what his role in all of this will be.

Do you think Scapegoat Jack Perry is going to join the Elite?

If they’re smart, the answer is no. I’d keep Perry and The Elite away from each other and hope that the wrestling fans get distracted by something other than The Buck’s obsession with CM Punk and how weak that video made Perry look. But then again, we’re talking about Tony Khan and his EVPs. They’ll all be together within six weeks.

Who do you see becoming the FIRST-EVER NXT Women’s North American Champion?

I haven’t thought about it much yet, but my first two names for this question are either Natalya, going to NXT to elevate some of the female talents, or Blair Davenport. There’s something about that young lady that says “future star” to me.

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
