It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Party. My bad! It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your host and Guiding Light, Doug, and this is how we do it. You have questions and I have the answers. Let’s roll.
Describe Vince McMahon in one word.
Billionaire.
Is Jim Cornette racist?
I don’t think so. Cornette, as a character, will say or do anything to generate heat and build a story. And yes, many of those things are not politically correct and are offensive. But in real life, can anyone find a moment where Cornette is making racist comments or showing racist behavior? New Jack loved the guy and that has to mean something because if Corny was the diehard racist everyone tries to claim, that friendship would never happen. Corny is loud, obnoxious, not politically correct in the slightest, and as a character, that’s what makes him stand apart from the crowd and so good at generating a reaction. Corny in real life, he’s all of that plus more, but I don’t see racism in the mix regardless of what some might imply or think.
What is up with all the Jim Cornette hate? Matt Koon and Brian Zane are blowing up Twitter with anti-Cornette comments and talking about how ‘racist’ Cornette is and how anyone who listens to him is racist, etc. Thoughts?
Matt Koon is just going through that time of the month or is probably drunk. He’s becoming a whiny little dipshit and it seems that all common sense has vanished. As for Zane, he’s still butt-hurt over the way Cornette blocked him and ended their friendship after Zane tried to defend Joey Ryan and said a few things that pissed Corny off. Cornette hurt Zane’s feelings and he’s been holding a grudge and crying about it ever since.
You get one of these Paul Heyman-led factions in their prime for 20 years to start a wrestling promotion with. Which one are you choosing? The Dangerous Alliance or The Bloodline?
It would be The Dangerous Alliance. There is much more variety in this group with different talents from different backgrounds and approaches to professional wrestling. As excellent as The Bloodline may be, there isn’t much variety there. You have Samoans, Sami, and that’s pretty much it. With the Dangerous Alliance, you have singles stars like Steve Austin & Rick Rude, tag team specialists in Bobby Eaton and Arn Anderson, a legend in Larry Zbyszko, and one of the top women of all time with Madusa. How could you go wrong with that group?
Darby Allin, who is out with a broken foot and broken nose, was hit by a bus while crossing the street in New York City. Thoughts?
Only Darby could do this. He works an angle so he can take time off to climb a mountain and legit breaks his foot. Sometime during his recovery, he breaks his nose. And then, crossing the street in New York, he’s nailed by a bus. This guy is either cursed or has a death wish. Only Darby.
Kurt Angle recently stated that he’d be interested in returning to WWE as a heel manager for Chad Gable. Thoughts?
I don’t see Gable needing a manager, but if WWE was to go this route, Kurt would be the obvious choice for the role. I could see it as a temporary story with Gable eventually turning on Kurt to cement his heel turn, but aside from that, Kurt isn’t necessary.
Will Ospreay versus Drew McIntyre. Who wins?
While I have grown to appreciate Ospreay and what he can do inside that ring, I’m still going to pick Drew with this one.
Braun Strowman or Big Van Vader?
The Monster Among Men is a big dude with a lot of potential, but compared to the Mastedeon, it’s not even close in my opinion. It’s Vader time!
Honest opinions on Liv Morgan?
She’s an attractive young lady, but to be honest, I don’t get it with her. She doesn’t stand out much in my opinion or bring anything special to the table. She’s just kind of there and taking up space as part of the WWE roster. Nothing more.
Chelsea Green is making noise on Twitter about wanting a role in WWE Management as a General Manager. Thoughts?
Chelsea is so good at being the ultimate Karen and a great character. It doesn’t matter if she wins or loses. You know that it will be an entertaining moment for the fans. And her online presence is so good, as is her rivalry with the two General Managers of WWE, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis. I’d love to see her get some kind of authority role just to see her get more television time and grow as a character. She really is that good.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
