It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and you’re not. Let’s roll.
Which pro wrestler disappointed you the most as a fan of theirs?
It has to be Ric Flair. I grew up in North Carolina as a fan of Ric Flair. From his time as a ‘cousin’ of The Andersons to the feud with Blackjack Mulligan, the matches against Steamboat, the Horsemen, the battles against Dusty, and so many other great moments and matches. Ric was the best of his era and his legacy was beyond reproach. And then he had that great retirement match against HBK. And then, he came back and destroyed that legacy. Ric has gone from being a legend to being a parody of himself. He’s become a joke who will do anything for money and has no credibility. He’s an alcoholic who has destroyed every relationship and friendship. It’s just sad. Very sad.
Tony Khan has been lowkey teasing an on-screen GM for the past couple of days in interviews. If AEW gets a GM, who should it be?
It appears as if Kenny Omega may be the designated EVP who will lead the fight against The New Elite, but I think Bryan Danielson would be a good choice as well. It would fit his role in the company and reputation while he heals from various injuries. And if you want a name from out of nowhere to just draw a reaction and shock the world, it was mentioned in a question from a few days ago. How about Shane McMahon?
You get stuck in an elevator with Vince McMahon, Tony Khan, and Dixie Carter. What do you do?
I’d just shut up, stand there, and listen. Despite the flaws of these three people, they still are fascinating people and it would be an experience like no other.
Has there been any talk of Vickie Guerrero potentially returning to WWE since she’s a free agent?
I haven’t heard anything, but given that Vickie’s last moment in the news was taking the side of her husband against her daughter about allegations of sexual abuse. The family was airing all of their dirty laundry in public and it wasn’t a good look. I think that would be a problem and it’s too fresh to bring Vickie back to WWE.
WWE NXT star Scrypt, aka Reggie, will be leaving WWE when his contract expires in June. Thoughts?
To be honest, I had forgotten that he was even still with WWE. The last time I remember seeing him do anything was the 24/7 title nonsense on RAW a couple of years ago. So he’s finally being released? It’s not a surprise or big deal in my opinion.
Will we ever find out the real reason why Cody Rhodes left AEW?
I seriously doubt it. I think that there are probably NDAs in place. Unless we get the story from Brandi or someone else who isn’t under legal restraint, I doubt we’ll ever know the full and true story.
The Undertaker states that he gets heel vibes from Cody Rhodes.
“He’s got heel qualities, he gives me a heel vibe. I could see him very easily being smug & you know…better than that. I feel it in his character.” Thoughts?
I can see Cody as a heel at some point. I think Undertaker is right on track with this comment.
Would you like to see Jake Paul in WWE?
At some point, it’s bound to happen. With Logan Paul doing so well in WWE, bringing in his brother for an angle is almost a no-brainer. Given his personality and over-the-top character, WWE and Jake Paul have to happen. And yes, I’d like to see it.
Kevin Nash versus Will Ospreay. Who wins?
Nash may be a big star and famous wrestling legend, but his actual in-ring skills suck. Ospreay wins.
Who would be on your Mt. Rushmore of wrestling heels?
Right off the top of my head, I’d go with Mr. McMahon, Ole Anderson, The Sheik, and The Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
