It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your party host and Guiding Light, Doug. Let’s do this.

Jerry Lawler is no longer under contract to the WWE. His contract expired at the first of the year and WWE chose not to renew it. Thoughts?

It’s just business and even Lawler admits that he’s not 100% and doing a full show would be hard and it’s harder to think and speak quickly, something a commentator needs to be able to do. If Lawler can’t do the job he’s hired for, why keep paying him for that job? I’m sure that Jerry will get a nice Legend’s Contract if he doesn’t already have one. If this was the old WWE, Lawler would still have a job and probably be looked after for life, but this isn’t the old WWE. It’s TKO and they’re a business looking to make money and cut some of the dead weight. Unfortunately, at this point, Lawler is just that to them and they’re cutting him loose. It’s not personal. It’s business.

Thoughts on Carlito’s heel turn?

Carlito has always been a much better heel than a babyface. So what do I think? I think it’s cool.

I’m curious to get your thoughts on the recent shots MJF has taken at Punk and Lesnar recently. Is this more of AEW taking shots at WWE or could this be MJF laying the groundwork for a debut in WWE?

I think it’s just MJF being MJF and putting the occasional comment out there to stir the pot and keep his name in the news as only MJF can do. We’re talking about him so it’s working.

Kevin Owens recently revealed that he has nine months left on his WWE contract. Thoughts?

I don’t think this means much. Nine months is plenty of time to talk business and work out a new deal. Kevin is just letting it be known to see if anyone else has an interest and thus, increasing his value to WWE before they sit down for a conversation. Nothing more.

Braun Strowman versus The Big Show. Who wins?

Both men are big and would match up well against each other. Strowman is much faster and more versatile as a performer while Big Show works the more traditional big-man power style. In a typical WWE-style match, Show would probably be the favorite, but I think I would have Strowman get the victory. He’s the better overall wrestler of the two men.

With all the confusion at the end of the Women’sTag Team Match at Backlash: France, should the title switch between Bianca Belair/Jade Cargill and the Kabuki Warriors be declared void and the titles returned to Asuka & Kairi Sane?

In a perfect world, Nick Aldis would declare the titles vacant and order an immediate rematch between both teams, but with seemingly an injury to Asuka, I doubt if the Kabuki Warriors would be able to do anything right now. I guess that WWE will just ignore the controversy for now and let the title-switch stay as it is, hoping that everyone forgets the confusion and chaos.

Ric Flair recently tweeted: “I Spent $1500 At @PiesanosSFP
To Be Disrespected More Than I Ever Have In My Entire Life. After Taking 20 Pictures With Customers And Staff, I Was Asked To Leave Because Of An Issue I Had With The Kitchen Manager Taking Too Long In The Bathroom. I Would Highly Recommend That Anyone Who Wants To Enjoy A Relaxing Time In Gainesville At A Nice Restaurant To Never Visit This Place! WOOOOO!”. Thoughts?

And now TMZ has released video footage from the incident and suffice it to say that Ric was drunk, rude, obnoxious, and full of himself. In other words, he was Ric Flair. Another big spit in the face of the legacy that was Ric Flair, by Ric himself. Ric would have been better off not saying anything and have let this thing go because only one person is looking bad here. And that’s Ric Flair.

Speaking of Ric Flair, he’s now claiming that medical tests reveal that he suffered a heart attack, most likely during his infamous last match. Thoughts?

At this point, anything that Ric Flair says or does is suspect. Ric is just looking for attention and the spotlight. Maybe it’s true and maybe it’s not, but considering the source, I’m more than a bit skeptical.

What is the number one acting role ever done by a professional wrestler on TV or in a movie?

I’ll go with The Miz in the series of The Marine movies. Miz is extremely underrated as a wrestler, an entertainer, an actor, etc. Be it comedy, drama, or any role at all, Miz always delivers and delivers an excellent performance. The Marine movie franchise wasn’t the best, but it was solid, good, and entertaining and the major reason why was because of Mike Mizanin, aka The Miz.

Ricky Starks hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since March, but he revealed on Twitter that “I’m not injured!”. So why hasn’t Starks been on AEW? He was getting a strong push and then all of a sudden, nothing.

Maybe he rubbed someone wrong backstage. Maybe it’s the strong connection to Cody Rhodes and the frequent visits backstage to WWE Events as Cody finished his story. Maybe it’s just the usual AEW stop-and-go booking in effect. Only Tony Khan, the EVPs, and Starks truly know for sure why Starks has been MIA and so far, none of them have publicly spilled the beans… yet.

Heidenreich & Lars Sullivan versus The Great Khali & PN News. Who wins?

This would be an odd match. A train wreck from the moment it was suggested, long before it ever made it to the ring, and let’s not even think about the actual match itself. Hopefully, it would be very short and over in twenty-five seconds. Of the four, PN News was the worst actual in-ring performer, plus he allegedly had sticky fingers backstage so he’d be the one to take the fall. How about Heidenreich ducks out of the way of a Khali chop and Khali chops News instead? Then Heidenreich covers for a pin. That sounds like a finish to me. Yo Baby! Yo Baby! Yo!

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for Khali Chops and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
