It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Happy Birthday to my future ex-husband, Eric. Love ya, dude. I’m Doug. Let’s get busy and talk some pro wrestling.

Is Becky Lynch on YOUR Mount Rushmore of women’s wrestling?

Nope. Becky is a talented wrestler and one of the best in the WWE right now, but I’ve been a fan for nearly fifty years and have seen a lot of amazing women over the years. Becky is good and maybe one day, she’ll make the cut, but as of right now, she still has a ways to go.

Alex Wright versus Marc Mero. Who wins?

Das’ Wunderkind versus Johnny B. Badd. This could be a fun match with both men in their primes. I think I’d go with Mero on this one though. Not sure why, but that’s what the gut says. Mero wins.

Why isn’t Mike Tenay in AEW yet?

After many years with TNA, I believe that Tenay is officially out of the business for good. AEW doesn’t need Tenay and Tenay certainly doesn’t need the headache of trying to carry the AEW announcers through shows and events. Also, if I recall correctly, Tenay and Schiavone didn’t get along very well back in the WCW days so that may be a factor as well. But the short answer is Tenay is no longer involved in pro wrestling and probably has no desire to get back into the business at this point in his life.

What’s a gimmick you were a fan of, though it didn’t last long?

I liked the Stevie Richards “GM of Sunday Night Heat” role back in the day, and Rob Conway’s version of the “Legend Killer” character. Those are the first two that popped into my head.

Have you been enjoying the run of Damian Priest as World Heavyweight Champion?

I haven’t been majorly impressed as of yet, but it’s a work in progress and I can see Priest getting stronger as a character and stronger on the mic as the weeks progress. All he needs is a good feud and opponent, to cement his position as Champion, and there is no limit to what Priest may be able to do.

Is it just me or has this Uncle Howdy thing already played out? The QR codes have been going on for a while now. And we still have no idea about anything.

Patience is a virtue and the Uncle Howdy/Wyatt 6 deal has barely begun. There is so much going on in WWE right now that being subtle is the key. Just relax and enjoy the ride. I’m sure that having patience will pay off in the end.

Looking back at it four years later, did you enjoy cinematic matches?

Not really, no. I appreciate the effort, but I’m more of a live-action type of person.

The Undertaker has put forward the idea of a WWE roast, similar to the roast of Tom Brady that aired on Netflix. Thoughts?

It could be interesting and fun to see, but I think that something of that nature should be reserved for the legends, the wrestlers who are retiring, and maybe as part of the Hall of Fame weekend. It’s an interesting concept to be sure.

Nikki Bella has expressed interest in trying to get a job with AEW. Tony Khan has expressed interest in talking to Nikki. Would you be interested in seeing the Bella Twins in AEW?

I have no interest in seeing it happen, but if Tony wants to spend money and Nikki is interested, who am I to object? Nikki was better in the ring than the majority of the ladies currently under an AEW contract so maybe she could teach them something. Who knows?

Do you think we will ever see Brock Lesnar in a WWE ring again?

Yes, I do. Brock is too big a name and too valuable a talent to let waste away in wrestling limbo. Brock means money and TKO likes to make money. Brock will be back eventually.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
