It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your party host with the most, and resident Guiding Light, Doug. And it’s late so I need to do this before I go to bed. Let’s roll.
Thoughts on Nia Jax as the WWE Queen of the Ring.
Nia has improved quite a bit since her return to WWE and I’m interested in seeing how this develops and where she goes. She’ll never be a great wrestler, but she’s got a strong presence and her work as a character is interesting. Queen of the Ring? Sounds good to me.
Top to bottom, is this the best roster WWE ever had?
I don’t know if it’s the best, but if not the best, it’s right up there and certainly in the argument.
Cody versus Dustin Rhodes was five years ago today at AEW Double or Nothing 2019. Do you think we’ll ever see Dustin & Cody in the ring together again? Either as opponents or as a team?
I don’t think we’ll ever see them as opponents again but as partners or at least in a role where one is supporting the other, most definitely. Dustin may be older, but he’s in great shape and still has a few years left if he chooses to continue wrestling. Even if it’s just whenever Dustin gets his long-deserved induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, the Rhodes Brothers are not over and through.
Thoughts on the Taskmaster, Kevin Sullivan?
One of the best wrestling minds of the territory days and as a character, among the best as well. Despite his short stature, when you see Kevin, you believe that he is evil and extremely dangerous. His devil-worshipping gimmick was far beyond its time and he’s in the argument when one thinks about the GOATs of being a heel.
Corey Graves just stood up for Michael Cole against Logan Paul.
GIVE ME GRAVES VS. PAUL. Yes or no?
Well, Corey is cleared to wrestle and has been for a while. A Corey Graves versus Logan Paul program would be entertaining and an interesting twist on things. I’d like to see it happen.
Becky Lynch’s WWE contract is expiring this week. WWE took the title off her in her first title defense. Not a good sign that she’s resigning. Thoughts?
And earlier tonight, Becky lost in the cage match to Liv Morgan as the main event of RAW. Also, not a good sign as I’ve heard no reports as of yet that she has signed a new deal or extension. I still believe that she will stay with WWE, but I guess that she wants a break before committing again to a full-time schedule. Remember that she was scheduled to take some time off after WrestleMania, but the injury to Rhea caused Becky to be brought back early to help out when Rhea was forced to vacate her title. I don’t think Becky is going anywhere and when she’s ready to wrestle again, she’s WWE for life.
Greg Valentine is a top 50 wrestler of all time. Yes or no?
I would say yes to that and based upon my own experiences meeting The Hammer on a couple of occasions back in the day, he’s also a Top 50 person as well. Greg is a cool dude.
Does Missy Hyatt belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
This is a no-brainer to me. As the former First Lady of WCW, an announcer and manager, the founder of Hot Stuff & Hyatt International with former husband Eddie Gilbert, her time in World Class, Mid-South, Memphis, and ECW, and now working with GCW, the answer is and will always be yes.
Bayley was asked who she would like to wrestle outside of WWE. She named Kris Statlander. Thoughts?
I can see this. Statlander is a good wrestler and while she’s currently being wasted in AEW, she’s a strong talent with a lot of potential. She and Bayley would be a good match, Maybe when Statlander’s contract ends, she’ll come to WWE and they can make this match happen. It’d be a good one.
The Masked Superstar versus John Bradshaw Layfield, aka JBL. Who wins?
The Masked Superstar did a clothesline that was more like Finn Balor’s swing blade move, but more effective as it set up the opponent for the Cobra Clutch, a move that was later stolen by Sgt. Slaughter and no one did it better than Bill Eadie, aka the Masked Superstar. And JBL would take someone’s head off with the Clothesline from Hell. A big Texas with all that power aimed at nothing but destruction. This would be a brutal and stuff, yet very awesome match. JBL had the power, but Superstar had the experience and was a better wrestler. I think Masked Superstar would win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for dudes with flame throwers and scumbags kicking people in the balls. I’ll see you at the matches.
