It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Mariah May pushed her boobs in Leyla Hirsch’s face so that Hirsch was essentially motorboating her. What the hell? Is AEW trying to copy WWE’s attitude era? This reeks of desperation.

Desperation is a good word for it and how any wrestling promotion, especially now in 2024 can use blatant sexuality like this is surprising. And it wasn’t even entertaining. It was just there and not much else, at least to me.

Will Ospreay recently commented on how badly WWE uses Ricochet and wishes he could wrestle him again. Thoughts?

Ricochet versus Ospreay would be a good match and they have a history together. But I don’t think Ricochet will be leaving WWE anytime soon. He may not be “used well” in Ospreay’s opinion, but they had enough faith in him to make him the initial “Speed Champion”, so that has to count for something. And how would AEW be better? Maybe 5 matches in six months and the on-again/off-again booking? RIcochet is better off to stay where he’s already at.

Would Colin Kaepernick make a good professional wrestler? He’s athletic, has name recognition, and would make a great heel. Thoughts?

It’s an interesting idea and would be fun to see Kaepernick trying to wrestle, but I don’t think it would work. He’s too controversial if there is such a thing and the baggage he brings? No thanks! If an ex-football player wants to make the transition, I’d rather see Cam Newton make the try.

Who has been the Ace of AEW in the first 5 years?

As much as I hate to say it, probably Moxley. He’s been the most consistent top name for AEW since it began.

“Our roster is the strongest group in all of wrestling. This [AEW] is where the best come to wrestle. That’s more than a slogan, it’s a mindset and it’s the truth.” — Tony Khan (Sports Illustrated). Thoughts?

As Tony says this, so be it. It’s not true in the eyes of most wrestling fans or even casual observers, but so long as Tony keeps saying and believing it, what do facts or the truth matter anyhow?

Do you enjoy the 5-match format for WWE PLEs? WWE has used the format for 2 PLEs in a row now.

It’s a solid formula and works much better than the 14-16 match craziness that is an AEW PPV. I’d prefer to maybe add one or two matches from time to time, but five is a good number to check all the boxes, give each match plenty of time, and keep the show flowing.

What if next month at Clash at the Castle is announced two night SummerSlam at Wembley? It would make perfect sense and just imagine Uncle Dave, and the AEW fanatics all going berserk when WWE sets an attendance and gate record.

It would be great. The AEW fans and Tony would have anxiety attacks and freak out, but it would be good business and I’d like to see it happen.

Who Wins: Eddie Kingston Vs Damian Priest?

Easily, Damian Priest. It’s not even close in my opinion.

Despite being in business for over five years, AEW is yet to have turned a profit! Thoughts?

Overpriced contracts, ratings, and attendance keep dropping. If Tony wasn’t a billionaire, AEW would have already been a memory. It takes a long time for a wrestling company to turn a profit. Look at the NWA and WCW. Luckily for AEW, Tony isn’t worried about making money or turning a profit. AEW is a job of passion and a hobby, not a business to make money. If Daddy Khan ever gets tired of indulging his son’s hobby, AEW might have something to worry about, but until then, profit or not, they’ll be okay.

Seth “Freakin” Rollins versus The Latin Heartthrob, Al Perez. Who wins?

Looking at Al Perez back in 1987, he and Seth could pass for twins. Perez was good and had ‘big star’ written all over him, but politics played a role and the potential was never fully realized. Seth has more charisma and is far more versatile as a performer. Seth should win this one.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for today. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
