It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s do this.
Which one is going to get the biggest pop when they come back? Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns, or Seth Rollins?
It all depends on the location, the circumstances, and the context of their return so it’s impossible to speculate. But I think that all three will have very loud and enthusiastic fans when they make their returns.
How about a one-shot match against the LWO with JBL and Jack Swagger, managed by Zeb Coulter? Cool or not?
It’d be fun in a fantasy booking kind of way, but JBL is retired and not in wrestling shape anymore, while Dutch is also retired and wouldn’t be available except for maybe a promo. But Swagger returning to the WWE and facing off against a few members of the LWO? That’s doable. Maybe we’ll get to see it happen. Who knows?
Can Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day still trust Dominik Mysterio?
I think Dom’s loyalty to Mami supercedes everything. Judgment Day is family to Dom and Dom would never turn on his family, right? Right?
Konnan recently stated that AEW constantly buries Wardlow and Brian Cage and that they’d be better off to be more selfish and stand up for themselves more. Thoughts?
They need to get out of their AEW contracts and move to a place with more structure where they can work matches, improve, and become future stars. But while still in AEW, being a little more selfish and standing up for themselves against bad stories, bad matches, and nonsense, is probably a good idea. Konnan would know.
Who wins in their peak of real wrestling in a four-person tournament, Kurt Angle, Iron Shiek, Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin?
By ‘real wrestling’, I guess you mean amateur wrestling, right? And if that’s the case, this would be awesome with four of the very best ever. And who wins? Kurt Angle, of course. After all, how many other of these guys won an Olympic Gold Medal, with a broken freakin’ neck?
So how about an NXT Faction, led by Arn Anderson, of Lexis King, Brock Anderson, Jack Swagger, and All Ego Ethan Page? Would it work and what would this group be called?
That would be cool, but I’d replace Swagger with Ricky Starks. And yes, you know he’s coming as soon as he is legally able and through with his AEW contract. And as for a name, they’re not quite The Horsemen, although Arn owns the rights to that name and could use it if he would choose to. Not quite the Horsemen, but a Horseman-type vibe with two second-generation Horsemen and led by one of the originals? How about the Riders of Apocalypse?
Based on mic skills only, how would you rank these four? Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock?
This is tough, but I’d say Flair, Austin, Rock, and then HBK.
A Forbidden Door PPV with WWE versus AEW, consisting of 8 matches with you as the booker. What would the matches be?
I’m the booker so I’d try to keep the matches as evenly booked as possible. Based on the rosters right now, it’d go like this. Cody Rhodes versus Swerve Strickland. Mercedes Mone versus Rhea Ripley. The Young Bucks versus The Awesome Truth. The Scapegoat, Jack Perry, versus CM Punk. Will Ospreay versus Seth Rollins. Toni Storm & Mariah May versus Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair. Bryan Danielson versus Drew McIntyre, and Gunther versus Claudio Castagnoli.
In their primes, Kurt Angle versus Bret “The Hitman” Hart versus Jack Brisco. Who wins?
This is a tough one, but I think I’d have to go with Bret on this one.
Chris Jericho on Becky Lynch possibly coming to AEW: “You mentioned Becky Lynch. Five years ago, Becky would have no other options. [I’m] Not saying that she’s coming, but there is an option. And who knows what could happen?” Thoughts?
Jericho is just poking the bear and trying to stir up some publicity and talk. Becky isn’t going to AEW and I think we all know that. But speculation is fun and it’s something to talk about. That’s all that Chris is doing.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches. Y’all come back now. You hear?
