It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Becky Lynch is now officially a free agent. Thoughts?

Becky is taking some time to recharge her batteries, play Mother, and take a break. She’ll also be able to look at contract offers, and acting opportunities, and just enjoy life away from the grinds of WWE for a bit. She’ll be back in WWE when she’s good and ready.

Who is more relevant? Kip Sabian in AEW or Seven Bundy on Married With Children?

I had forgotten about Seven, the young child of Peggy’s brother and sister-in-law, played by Bobcat Goldwait & Linda Blair, who came to live with the Budy family for one of their final seasons. That was a bad idea from the start and never got any better. When the kid vanished, it was good riddance. And then we have Kip Sabian in AEW. Kip is a decent wrestler and entertaining and in any other company, he’d be doing quite well. He’s not a top guy but is a solid performer who deserves far better than what he’s currently allowed to do. For a company like TNA, MLW, or even NXT/WWE, Sabian could matter. Seven though? He never did.

Give your honest opinion on Chelsea Green.

An amazing talent, an entertaining performer, a beautiful woman, and very charismatic with all the potential in the world.

Has WWE failed in the booking of Shinsuke Nakamura?

It’s been hit-and-miss, but probably more miss than hit. Shinsuke has had some good times in WWE and a strong amount of success, but I think his time as a potential top guy has passed. Shinsuke would be a good one to work in NXT or do any potential crossovers with TNA. He still has value to WWE as a veteran talent, but just not as a top guy anymore. I think he has a job for as long as he wants it but in more of a supporting role.

Do you think Gunther walks out of SummerSlam as World Champion?

I’m a huge fan of both Gunther and WWE World Champion Damian Priest with Judgment Day so I’m hoping that there is no title switch and we can get an Imperium versus Judgment Day feud going on for a while first before any titles change hands. But, and you knew there would be a but, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Gunther win the World Championship at SummerSlam. I don’t want to see it happen yet, but it most likely will.

Has Cody Rhodes already reached “Cena status”? Meaning, he’s SO over and popular with kids that they can never turn him heel?

No, I don’t think he’s there yet. If done realistically and convincingly, I think Cody could not only turn heel but do an excellent job of it. Yes, Cody is that good.

Lio Rush is back in AEW… and in his first match back, he jobs out to Roderick Strong on Collision. Thoughts?

Lio is a very talented dude, but I can’t get into him. He retires or quits every other appearance, or so it seems. He’s got major skills and is a great talker, but he’s also young and impulsive in many ways. I guess that after watching Lio burn other promotions, like MLW, TNA, and Japan, someone at AEW was taking notes. Use Lio, but no big push until you’re sure he’s there for the long run.

SmackDown GM, Nick Aldis has been in his role for over half a year now. How would you rate Aldis as the Smackdown GM?

I like Aldis. He’s no-nonsense as the GM but has just the right amount of humor and sarcasm to be an ass at times without being an ass. He plays the authority figure role quite well and when he eventually makes a return to the ring as a wrestler, he’s established a strong base and character to build from. He was the right guy for the GM role and has done an excellent job thus far.

Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage versus Antonio Inoki & Giant Baba. Who wins?

Two WWE legends versus two legends of Japan. It would be a no-contest for sure because I can’t see any of these men willing to take the fall and do the job. Well, Baba might, but the rest of these guys? Nope, it wouldn’t happen. So let’s go with a double-disqualification finish. And if there had to be a winning team, it’d be Hogan and Savage after Baba takes the fall.

With all of this talk of WWE and TNA doing some crossover events, how about AEW being invaded by Brock Lesnar? Thoughts?

It would be awesome and make for some great television, but I can’t see WWE doing that. They want to work with TNA and help them somewhat, but that means lower-level talents crossing over. Brock is Brock Lesnar. That’d be like sending a nuclear bomb to Somalia to help fight pirates. Brock is too big for something like that.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. I hope you’ve enjoyed this day of catching up on the Q&A. Keep sending those questions. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
