It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and I’m playing catch-up today. Let’s roll.
With WWE and TNA possibly doing crossover events, should WWE bring back the World’s Collide PPV that they retired a few years ago? It would be the perfect name for a WWE versus TNA event.
That would be a great name and yes, it does fit the story of having two major promotions against each other. But the name of the event doesn’t matter. If such a show was to happen, just make it strong, entertaining, and fun. Nothing else matters.
Since Minneapolis will host the first two-night Summerslam, do you think that it and future Summerslams will attract the same level of indie promotions and conventions that we’ve seen at towns hosting Manias for the last decade?
I’m sure that is exactly what WWE is hoping for, establishing Summerslam as an annual event, just as big as Wrestlemania. It might work or it might not, but WWE is certainly hoping that is the way that everything turns out.
Do you think it’s time to put The Usos back together?
So long as the reunion makes sense from a storyline perspective, WWE should do exactly that. Wait for the right time and storyline reason Make it matter. For example, have Jimmy return to save Jey from being hurt, much like Jimmy Garvin came to the aid of Ronnie Garvin when Ronnie was attacked by The Midnight Express and Jim Cornette’s fireball and it’ll work well, immediately getting both men over.
One’s Got To Go, WWE Edition. Who would you terminate and remove from title contention? Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, or Jake “The Snake” Roberts?
Is this even a serious question? Say goodbye to the Ultimate Warrior.
What media personality, influencer, or celebrity would make a good WWE Superstar?
Two names immediately popped into my mind. One is Jack Black. The actor working as a comedy wrestler, would be excellent and steal the show. Nacho Libre comes to life. And the other? Singer Tom McDonald. Before his musical success, McDonald worked as a professional wrestler. He has the skills and looks, plus his real-life persona and character would get over very well with most crowds. He’s controversial and divisive, but he would draw attention and make money.
According to Fightful Select, Chad Gable’s contract with WWE is set to expire next week, but no deal has been reached as of yet. Thoughts?
I hope this is just speculation and WWE can come to terms with Gable on a new deal. He’s been excellent as of late and doing some of the best work of his career. Hopefully, they’ll sign a deal and this excellent ride will continue for Gable. I hope so.
Should Will Ospreay win the AEW World Championship from Swerve Strickland at AEW Forbidden Door?
Should he? Nope. But will he? I guess it all depends on how much skiing Tony Khan does that morning and what the Magic 9-Ball tells him to do. This could and should be a money feud that should play out for a while. But honestly, I expect to see AEW rush things at the first match with the two men and let Ospreay walk away with the title. It shouldn’t happen that way, but probably will.
Tony Khan recently spoke about expanding AEW Dynamite to three hours every week. Would you like to see Dynamite be longer?
I can’t even get through a two-hour show as it is right now. Three hours would be too much. No to that idea.
44 more episodes to go and AEW Dynamite will have lasted longer than WCW Nitro. Thoughts?
What is there to think about? 44 weeks means still nearly a year away and who knows what can happen between now and then? And despite the length of time on the air, Nitro was regularly doing 4 to 5 million viewers a week, easily. Dynamite usually runs between 700,000 and 800,000 viewers a week if they’re lucky. They’re not the same and Dynamite will never surpass the total number of viewers Nitro had. They’ll never even come close.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap this up. I’ll be back in a little while with more stuff. I told you this was a catch-up day. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll catch you on the other side and see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
