It’s the evening edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to rumble? I’m Doug. Let’s do this.
Are fourteen matches too many for a PPV/PLE?
Yes. In my opinion, 7-8 matches is the ideal number for a major card or event. With a dozen or more matches on the event, you might have a great match, but it’s all thrown out there in a big jumble and who can remember anything once the show’s over? Too much action is thrown out there and it all blurs together in a convoluted mess. It wears the audience out and is just too much at one time.
AEW’s Butcher (of Butcher & The Blade) versus WCW’s The Butcher (Ed Leslie). Who wins?
With all due to the AEW Butcher, this one easily goes for WCW’s resident chameleon, Ed Leslie, aka the Booty Man, Zodiac, Dizzy Hogan, The Disciple, Brutus Beefcake, and The Butcher, as it should.
I Believe in Joe Hendry becoming the NXT North American Champion! It would be awesome if Joe Hendry won both the TNA X Division Championship and the NXT North American Championship at the same time! I Believe in Joe Hendry!
I get it dude. You believe in Joe Hendry. And I’ll agree that Hendry is very over right now. Hendry as the NXT North American Champion, as well as holding TNA gold at the same time? I like it. It would be, as you say, awesome!
Now that Paul Heyman is out, who should be the new “Wise Man” for Bloodline 2.0?
Armando Alejandro Estrada is the first name that popped into my head. He was the manager for Umaga and working as the mentor for Umaga’s son and family, which makes great sense. Rikishi is another name that comes to mind, but I like the idea of Estrada more.
According to Macho Man Randy Savage’s ex, Gorgeous George, the rumors about Macho and Stephanie McMahon were true. Thoughts?
So now we finally know. And who cares? Macho isn’t here to defend himself and Steph has been happily married to Hunter for nearly 21 years. It’s old gossip and not worth talking about anymore.
Everyone thinks Paul Heyman will bring back Roman Reigns, but what if Heyman brings back Brock Lesnar instead? Thoughts?
It makes sense. While Brock and Heyman had their storyline differences, all Brock would have to say is that he saw what happened on Smackdown and he’s back. CM Punk needs to respond as well, but he’s got his hands full right now with Drew McIntyre, so Brock is the next obvious choice. Brock versus Jacob Fatu is money waiting to be made. And a Heyman-guy team of Roman, Brock, and Punk, along with the Usos, versus The New Bloodline and the Rock at War Games? Just take my money now, WWE. I’d love to see it all happen.
Possible TNA Hall of Fame inductees for this year are rumored to be AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, and Ron Killings (R-Truth). Thoughts?
Roode works for WWE as an agent, while Styles and Truth are both part of the WWE roster, but with the recent partnership of WWE/NXT and TNA, this obviously could happen and would be great for both companies. I hope the rumors are true.
Rhea Ripley versus Awesome Kong. Who wins?
Awesome Kong is indeed awesome but never bet against Mami because Mami is always on top. Rhea wins.
Who has had the better World Championship run: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes or Damian Priest?
This is a tough question because, to be honest, neither has set the world on fire as of yet with their reigns or title defenses. I’ll give Cody the slight edge just for the promos and the quality of the opponent in AJ Styles, but both men have been adequate, but little more than that thus far.
Ric Flair recently stated that he feels that Shane Douglas will never be in the WWE Hall of Fame and is a failed wrestler who never succeeded anywhere he wrestled. Thoughts?
Shane’s time in ECW makes up for any failed runs in WCW or WWE in my opinion. Ric just doesn’t like Douglas and is talking out of his ass, as usual. Douglas had a good career and is well deserving of an eventual spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. It’s time to go watch AEW Forbidden Door… or maybe take a nap instead. I’ll see you at the matches.
