It’s the AM edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Madusa recently talked about her time in AEW and how she and Dustin Rhodes had voluntary training sessions, but since they were voluntary, different AEW talents didn’t bother to go and blew them off. Thoughts?

Madusa was speaking of one top AEW female star in particular, but I’ve heard the same thing being spoken about by Billy Gunn, CM Punk, Jake Roberts, Arn Anderson, etc., and many others about how the younger talent won’t take advice, won’t listen to the veterans and don’t seem to care about getting better. With so many experienced veterans available to learn from, many in AEW want to do their flips, play with their friends, and work crappy matches instead of sitting under the learning tree and becoming better at their craft. Very sad!

Will Ospreay versus Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Who wins?

Ospreay is growing on me and despite the poor booking that is AEW, I can see the talent with the man. Bret is a miserable soul who does little but whine and complain, but in his day, the man could certainly perform in the ring. He wasn’t called the best there is, was, and ever will be because it looked good on a t-shirt. He earned that title. Ospreay would give a good match and it’d be one for the ages, but the winner is in little doubt. Bret Hart would win.

Dutch Mantell versus The Iron Sheik. Who wins?

Dutch versus The Sheik. Dutch is an excellent commentator and booker, but Sheik, in his day, was an amazing wrestler. This one goes to Sheiky Baby all the way.

Would you support an Eric Bischoff-controlled revival/reboot of WCW?

Considering that WWE owns WCW and the rights to the name, this could never happen. But if Eric were to put together some investors and create a new promotion, possibly buying the name WCW from WWE, I would be interested and be watching from Day 1. Eric knows what, and more importantly, what not to do, to get a wrestling promotion off the ground and running. I think he’s learned from past mistakes and it would be an exciting thing to see. It’ll never happen, but if it did, I’d be right there on board.

Daniel Garcia versus Das’ Wunderkind Alex Wright. Who wins?

Both are highly underrated and both rely on the dancing more than the actual wrestling. Well, Wright did back in the day and Garcia does now. This would be a fun match to see happen, even by today’s standards. Wright runs a wrestling school in his native Germany so most likely, he could still go with anyone. I think Alex would end up getting the win.

Natalya still hasn’t signed a new deal with WWE.Do you think she will stay with WWE, go to another company, retire, or what?

I’m thinking that Natalya is WWE for life, but then I see this and I’m not so sure anymore. Natalya has been part of WWE for her entire wrestling career so I’m starting to think that maybe she’s ready for a chance of scenery and something different. I’m sure that AEW would love to have her as part of their roster. I could also see her going to TNA and doing quite well. I don’t think retirement is on the list of options, but maybe a break of a year or two from WWE before heading back for a Hall of Fame induction and job as a trainer/agent, I can see that happening. I hope she stays with WWE, but at this point, anything is possible.

Jonathan Coachman, aka The Coach, recently said that he’d love to return to WWE as Drew McIntyre’s manager. Would you like to see The Coach back in WWE?

I’ve always enjoyed Coach as a character and he would be excellent working in WWE as a manager or well, as a Coach. Drew doesn’t need an advocate, but I can see it in my mind and Coach would be an excellent choice. Coach as Drew’s coach? Works for me.

Do you acknowledge Solo Sikoa as your Tribal Chief?

There is only one Tribal Chief and true Head of the Table. His name is Roman Reigns. ‘Nuff said!

Paul Heyman is the greatest manager/non-wrestler character in wrestling history. Yes or no?

I can’t say that he’s the greatest in history, but I will say that he’s certainly in the discussion as one of the best. Heyman never forgets the little things and always goes above and beyond in any role he’s given.

Stevie Richards recently suggested that Tony Khan replace Adam Copeland (Edge) in AEW with Gangrel until Copeland can return. Thoughts?

That makes sense. Gangrel was brought in by Copeland as his backup so why wouldn’t Gangrel step up and take Copeland’s spot until Edge can return to action? It’s logical, would give Gangrel an opportunity, and they wouldn’t have to change much from the original story. It makes far more sense than Gangrel appearing for one match and then vanishing, never to be mentioned again, as AEW has seemingly done.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for vampires coming out from under the ring and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
