It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Thoughts on AEW Forbidden Door? Should they do it again next year?
Most of the show was too long and forgettable, but the main event, with Swerve going over Ospreay, was very good. And yes, if AEW is still in business this time next year, they should do it again.
The Hardy Boyz or The Young Bucks? Who wins?
The Hardys should win. And The New Elite should be DELETED!
In the Media Scrum, Tony Khan mentioned about a possible show in Puerto Rico. Would you like to see AEW in Puerto Rico?
The Puerto Rican audience loves good wrestling and is always a great crowd for a live event. AEW and Tony Khan should give it a shot.
Who’s winning this year’s Men’s MITB?
It won’t be Drew McIntyre because I suspect we’ll have someone from Chicago screw that up for Drew. Let’s go with Chad Gable.
Dr. Britt Baker is back in AEW and challenging Mercedes Mone. Thoughts?
Britt is the heel, but she’s getting cheered. What the…? This should be a good feud and a fun match or two. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.
Jack Perry is the new AEW TNT Champion. Who should his first feud be against?
The most obvious choice is a man he’s never beaten, who also happens to be a former multi-time TNT Champion, Sammy Guevera. Sammy versus Perry could make for some good television.
Jon Moxley versus Barry Windham. Who wins?
Moxley would shed lots of blood, but in his prime, Barry would win the match and win rather easily.
Should active wrestlers have “creative control” over their characters?
Nope, I don’t think so. If they don’t like their character or something they’re being asked to do, go to the booker with the better idea and state your case. It may get better, but if the wrestler still isn’t happy, either suck it up and do as you’ve been asked or refuse and get sent home or fired. While I understand not liking parts of the job, don’t complain about the boss unless you can do better. And then, prove it.
According to Tony Khan, people would “kill” to get the ratings AEW does. Thoughts?
And people would also look at the recent decline in ratings and try to fix things to make it better instead of just giving excuses. No, the ratings can get worse and many shows would love to be viewed by 500,000 people a week. That’s true. But when a show started with over a million viewers and has steadily declined ever since, there’s a problem. Don’t talk about how great things are. Fix it already.
Joe Hendry versus Elias. Who wins?
I had already forgotten about Elias. Joe Hendry gets the win here, as he should.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans and Happy 4th to everyone else as well. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the picnic and cookout.
