It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Happy Independence Day to all of my fellow Americans. Now, let’s talk wrestling. Let’s roll.
Do you see LA Knight ever becoming a World Championship in the WWE?
No, I do not. He’s a popular wrestler and very talented in the ring, but I don’t see him ever being the top guy in WWE. IC or United States Champion maybe, but WWE or World Champion? I can’t see it happening.
Who is the most underrated wrestler in the WWE right now?
The Miz. He doesn’t get much respect from the fans, but he’s the perfect wrestler in that he can be inserted into any role, be it serious, comedy, main eventer, announcer, tag team, singles, etc., and he can not only do it but do it well. He is what he says he is, and that is AWESOME!
If Rhea and Dom stay together, should Dom propose to Rhea? Should they have a TV wedding?
No way. While I understand suspending our belief at times in pro wrestling, both Rhea and Dom recently got married in real life and a character romance would be too far-fetched to believe. Now if it was maybe Finn and Liv getting married, it could work, but not Dom & Mami.
Do you think we will ever get Nia and Naomi added to a Bloodline storyline?
Don’t forget Tamina. She’s part of the family too. And no, I don’t think we will. If the ladies were to be part of the Bloodline story, they most likely would have been added already by now. My guess is the women do their things and the men do theirs and even know we, the fans, know the connections, we’re supposed to ignore it and let things slide.
Per Fightful, Ricochet is now a free agent, and is expected to join AEW! Thoughts?
If this happens, good for Ricochet. He’ll go to AEW, get a huge push, a few matches against Will Ospreay, and then be forgotten about while he sits at home and counts his money from the big AEW paycheck. Congrats to RIcochet. It’s a great gig if one can do it.
So here’s an idea. A Royal Rumble Reboot, where former WWE talents, legends, and nostalgia wrestlers compete in a thirty-man Royal Rumble-style match, with the winners getting a contract with WWE and a title match. Think of the Legends Battle Royal from Wrestlemania X7 but with Royal Rumble rules. What do you think?
Truthfully, I like this idea. It’d give a bunch of former wrestlers and old-time talents a chance for one last moment at the spotlight, plus give the current talents a night off. This is out there just enough to work as a special edition of RAW or Smackdown and would just make for a fun night of nostalgia while giving a returning talent a chance to get a big push and shine. It’s a cool idea.
So Britt Baker is back and allegedly a heel, but she’s getting massive cheers. Mercedes Monet is a babyface, but the fans prefer Baker over her. Thoughts?
It seems, as of Dynamite last night, that AEW noticed that too. Now, Mercedes is hanging out with The Elite while Baker is being presented as the returning favorite. The fans are setting the tone and I’m interested in seeing how this develops.
Kenny Omega versus Will Ospreay. Who wins?
Hopefully, we’ll get to see this match happen at some point. It would be awesome. As for who wins, I’d go with Omega for this one.
Is AEW truly “where the best wrestle”?
AEW does have some great talents on the roster and they’re capable of having some fantastic matches, but the lack of stories and selling moves, plus the bad booking, hurts the narrative. They do a lot of things, but I wouldn’t call most of it wrestling.
Should WWE move the Hall of Fame from WrestleMania weekend to SummerSlam weekend instead? And instead of being part of the Smackdown taping, how about as a separate event again? What do you think?
I would support moving the Hall of Fame to a different time apart from either Mania or SummerSlam, just to give it a weekend and event of its own, much like WCW did in the past with Slamboree, A Legend’s Reunion. A PLE that’s built around the Hall of Fame Inductions and allows the honorees a chance to shine and own the spotlight instead of just being another show on Wrestlemania weekend and part of Smackdown. And should WWE have the actual inductions as a separate event? Again, I would say yes.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
