WWE NXT Heatwave:
Thoughts & Predictions

Tomorrow, WWE NXT will present Heatwave 2024. And you know what that means, right? It’s time to channel my inner Gary Spivey, put on the spiked wig, and attempt to predict the future. I’m Doug and this is how we do it. Let’s roll.
WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page vs. Shawn Spears.
I’m not too fond of Je’ Von Evans and he needs to work on his selling before I can take him seriously. He belongs in AEW, not NXT. Trick has been a good champion, but I’m sensing an upset here. It won’t be Shawn Spears, although that would make for a “Perfect 10” moment. That leaves Ethan Page. Can All-Ego do it and become the champion? I think he will.
Winner and NEW NXT Champion: Ethan Page
WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom vs. Chase University’s Andre Chase and Duke Hudson.
I like both teams, and this one is a tough call. How long have Frazer & Axiom been the champions? Not very long if I recall correctly. I’d love to see Chase University with the belts, but that’s not happening here. Look for the champions to retain.
Winners and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions: Nathan Frazer & Axiom.
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez vs. Lola Vice.
Will any of the ladies from TNA show up for this? Roxanne has ruffled a few feathers with the Knockouts, so anything is possible. I’m sure we’ll see some TNA shenanigans throughout the evening. Perez has been an excellent champion thus far, and I don’t see Vice getting the nod yet. Look for Perez to retain.
Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Roxanne Perez.
WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan vs. Sol Ruca.
On this one, I must admit I haven’t been following the feud, and my knowledge of both ladies is limited. So let’s flip a coin. Heads for Jordan and tails for Ruca. Ruca has the same name as one of my favorite songs by Sublime, called “Waiting for My Ruca”. And we have tails. So look for a winner and a new champion in Sol Ruca. The coin and my obscure musical tastes have spoken.
Winner and NEW NXT Women’s North American Champion: Sol Ruca.
WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi vs. Wes Lee – If Lee loses, he cannot challenge as long as Femi is the champion.
The same stipulation on two matches on the same weekend? As Cornette would say, “Lazy booking!”. Wes Lee is a great wrestler, but he’s ready to move up to the main roster soon. Oba Femi is a monster of a man and I think there may be a Moose in his immediate future. Look for Femi to keep his title and get ready for a little bit of TNA.
Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Oba Femi.
Karmen Petrovic & Arianna Grace vs. Jacy Jayne & Jasmyn Nyx.
Four very talented ladies with a huge future ahead of them, this should be an excellent match to most likely open the show. It’s hard to make a decision, but my gut says Jacy Jayne and Jasmyn Nyx are a team to be watching. The gut never lies.
Winners: Jacy Jayne & Jasmyn Nyx.
And there you go with my predictions for the WWE NXT Heatwave PLE. I also expect to see some TNA backlash about Charlie Dempsey and his invasion of TNA Impact Wrestling this past week. So what do you think? Will you be watching on Sunday, be it on Peacock or the WWE Network? Let me know your comments, thoughts, predictions, etc. Thanks for reading. I’m Doug and I’ll see you at the matches.
