It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
A Go-Fund-Me for 2 Cold Scorpio to help with living expenses. Have you seen this? Thoughts?
I don’t get it. While I have much respect for Scorpio as a wrestler, he pulled out a knife and stabbed a guy repeatedly for either smoking/vaping when the guy wasn’t supposed to. I get it. I hate cigarettes too, but Scorpio was working as a security guard, this dude was an ass, and they got into a fight. Scorpio is the one who pulled and used a knife though to repeatedly stab the dude. And now he wants us to pay his bills while he awaits trial? With all due respect, actions have consequences and if Scorpio can’t pay his bills due to stabbing a dude, that’s not the fan’s problem. I just don’t get it.
Jacob Fatu is on one side of the street, and Bron Breakker is on the other side. Both are coming your way. Which side of the street do you want to be on?
I walk in the middle of the road and take the risk of getting hit by a car. I wouldn’t want to mess with either of those dudes.
The John Cena retirement tour has endless creative ways it can go. I am all in! Could you see a World title win to send him off as the 17-time World Champion? Possibly even his last match in December and have the winner of the Royal Rumble become the Champion after? That visual would be awesome.
It’s a good idea and would make for, as you say, an awesome visual. I’m sure that WWE Creative and Cena are probably throwing all sorts of ideas out there to make Cena’s final year the best. I personally don’t think he needs to hold any more World Championship titles, but who knows what will happen? We’ll just have to wait and see.
SummerSlam has featured big returns over the last few years. Will that tradition continue in 2024?
It will continue with the return of Roman Reigns and the Wise Man, Paul Heyman. And hopefully, Matt Cardona to challenge John Cena to a future match. At least that’s my hope.
Chris Jericho says that he believes Pro Wrestling could be an Olympic sport. Thoughts?
It’s an interesting idea, but how exactly would that work? Wrestling is predetermined and as much showmanship as athletics. I don’t think it would work or play out very well.
Tony Khan: AEW not planning a US Stadium show anytime ‘in the immediate future’. Thoughts?
AEW is barely doing enough live business to sell out a high school gymnasium, so I understand why stadiums are off the list of possible venues for live events. It makes sense.
Darby Allin says he’s been medically cleared to return to AEW and “It’s going to be fun. I got a lot of crazy stuff planned.” Thoughts?
How does this dude continue to get medically cleared and continue to wrestle? He’s an adrenaline junkie and he’s going to end up crippled or worse. Darby needs someone to protect him from himself because he’s his own worst enemy. I am not looking forward to the year to come.
Unpopular Opinion: MJF has become just another guy in AEW. Do you agree or not?
It’s true. MJF used to be special, but between the long absence, the stupid stories, and the lackluster feuds and booking, he’s lost that charm and aura that made him special. He’s just another guy in AEW now, which is sad because he used to be one of the really good ones and high points of each show.
Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher versus Kevin Owens & Randy Orton. Who wins?
I know of Bruiser & Crusher through the old magazines, but I’ve only seen them wrestle a few times on YouTube. They’re two tough old dudes. That being said, Randy and KO are far better wrestlers than either Bruiser or Crusher have ever thought about being. Orton and Owens would win.
As of tonight, AEW Dynamite celebrates 250 episodes. Do you think they’ll make it for 250 more?
They probably will, but I don’t think they’ll remain on TBS or TNT for the entire run. Tony has the money to keep them alive and going for a while to come, but if the ratings keep declining, we may end up seeing a change of networks or streaming homes. So long as Tony keeps spending the money, AEW Dynamite will survive. Will the fans continue to watch? That, we’ll have to wait and see.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
