It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and this is how we do it. Let’s roll.

Tony Khan says Mariah May has become one of the ‘biggest stars in wrestling’. Thoughts?

Outside of the hardcore AEW audience, no one knows who Mariah May is. And even with the AEW fans, half of them just know her as the blonde woman with the shoe. Tony is just over-hyping, as usual.

Do you think WWE will return to an attitude-era-like product when RAW goes to Netflix? SmackDown will be more family-friendly since the show will be on USA Network and RAW will be more of an adult-like product.

I don’t think we’ll see much more than we already see now on the USA Network. It’s a different time now and regardless of what network WWE is on, there are plenty of things from the Attitude Era that would never float today. I don’t think there will be as many changes as people seem to think.

Do you think we will see Owen Hart in the WWE HOF now that the company has changed so much? Would you like to see him celebrated on that stage?

I don’t see Martha Hart changing her mind and so long as she’s alive, Owen will not be part of the WWE Hall of Fame. I’d love to see him as part of the WWE Hall of Fame, but it’s not going to happen.

Gunther versus Big John Studd. Who wins?

Studd wasn’t a great wrestler, but he was so big and a methodical, massive dude. And Gunther? He’s a pure wrestling machine. This would be an interesting clash of styles. I think Studd would win.

Who is more dangerous with the shoe? Mariah May or Miss Elizabeth?

Who can forget Miss Elizabeth going after Hogan and Macho Man in WCW and helping Flair win the WCW title? Woman was deadly with a high heel too, as was Sensational Sherri. But I’ll give credit where it’s due. Mariah May took it to Toni Storm with some amazing gusto and whooped some ass. I’ll give Mariah the nod on this one.

If AEW is going to keep doing these long PPVs, what would your suggestion be?

Either start earlier or make every event two nights to avoid forcing the audience to have to sit through all of that in one night. My best suggestion would be don’t do it and keep the PPVs at 7-8 matches tops. But if they’re going to keep on keeping on, start the show earlier.

Buff Bagwell versus Matt Cardona. Who wins?

Buff is the stuff, but Matt is the Indy King. Cardona wins.

MJF beat Will Ospreay for the International Championship on Dynamite. So MJF/Ospreay II at AEW All-In? Yes or no?

That sounds like a plan to me. The first match was good, albeit long, so why not have round two at the PPV? Makes sense to me.

The six-sided ring was retired in TNA in 2018. Would you like to see TNA bring it back?

For the occasional special event, maybe, but for anything else, nope. Leave it in storage and let the six-sided ring stay retired.

Kane and Linda McMahon were spotted at the RNC, while Hulk Hogan is being rumored to be a speaker at the Convention. Are you surprised at the strong wrestling presence at the RNC event?

Not really, no. Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer, plus has always had a strong connection to the WWE and the world of professional wrestling, so it kind of makes sense. What’s more all-American than professional wrestling? I will admit that Hogan surprised me, but he did a great job, cut a classic 80s-style Hogan promo, and was far more effective than he had any right to be. Linda’s speech made sense since she’s a former Trump Cabinet official, and Kane was just there to intimidate people. It was a good night for the WWE. Now, let’s see the Dems top this.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s close down for the night. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
