It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Who’s the better all-time wrestler? Randy Orton or Sting?
Between the two, I have to go with Randy Orton. Sting had his moments and an amazing career, but he was never what I would consider a great worker. Sting never carried a match or opponent that I can recall. Orton has done that many times.
On the K100 show, they said Stephanie Vaquer was not picked up from the airport after she was told she would similar to the CM Punk situation. Thoughts?
Just incompetence and lack of planning by the AEW team. If a company is flying in an international star for an event, arrangements should be in place to accommodate them. Failure to do so is just bad business.
Former ROH Owner Cary Silkin: “Ring of Honor, there was some good pro wrestling going on in that segment of it but right now, Ring of Honor it’s like no one cares at all. I don’t care how much money Tony Khan has. It’s not being treated very well.” Thoughts?
ROH is just a brand for Tony Khan to feature talent and have more toys to play with. No one cares about ROH and it’s obvious that in Tony’s eyes, they’re not the B-show, but more like the C or D brand.
BookerT: “Well, I’m never gonna retire. I’m definitely gonna get back in the ring at some point in time to do something. But it’s gonna be here, in Reality of Wrestling, or in Saudi.” Thoughts?
Wrestlers never truly retire. They’re just waiting for the next big paycheck. Booker will wrestle for his own company or a big Saudi payday. And who can blame him?
Kamala the Ugandan Giant versus Ox Baker. Who wins?
Two classic old-school heels. This match would suck from a workrate point of view, but it would be fun to see. Who would the fans cheer for? I think Baker would steal a win with the heart punch.
According to a report, WWE is now allowing wrestlers to keep their character names after leaving the company. Thoughts?
This has been clarified. If a wrestler has a name before they come to WWE, most likely they’ll keep the same name and allow WWE to borrow the copyright as needed for merchandising and promotional stuff. And when they leave, they’ll still be the same character. But if WWE created the name and character, the name stays with WWE if the person leaves. For example, Sasha Banks became Mercedes Mone’ and Edge became Adam Copeland. If WWE created it, they keep it. And if the talent created it, pre-WWE, they take it with them.
Chelsea Green recently said that she wanted to become the female version of The Miz in WWE. Thoughts?
That sounds like a plan. Miz is one of the best performers on the WWE roster, who can work in any spot, do serious or comedy, be a face or a heel, and has had a legit Hall of Fame-worthy career. If Chelsea had to pick a WWE performer to emulate, The Miz was a great choice.
Who Wins: Swerve Strickland Vs Damian Priest?
I’d go with Damian Priest for this one. He gets better every week and is developing into a top guy rather quickly. Swerve? I’ve tried, but I don’t see it in him yet.
Thoughts on the Rhea Ripley/Liv Morgan/Dominik Mysterio love triangle?
At first, I was like “Eh!”, but it’s growing on me. It’s like a soap opera with the three going back and forth and I’m invested to see how this all turns out. It’s good story telling that is working to build all three main characters. I like it.
Do you think that CJ Perry (Lana) will return to WWE?
Without Miro at her side, what’s the point? She’s not that good of a character or wrestler. I think her best options are in Hollyweird instead of professional wrestling.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
