It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Bobby Lashley has been removed from the WWE internal roster and his contract expires soon. Thoughts?
I don’t get this one at all. Lashley hasn’t been on TV or part of anything for a while now, but he’s a legit monster and has quite a bit to offer to the company. The Hurt Business was great and WWE has seemingly dropped the ball big time on this one.
Would you like to see The Hurt Business (with a different name, obviously) in AEW? Cedric is still with WWE, but MVP and Lashley will be available soon.
I’d love to see Lashley, MVP, and the rest of the crew pick up where they left off and keep it going. It’s a good gimmick and was working. Maybe a reunion for Lashley with Lio Rush in AEW as part of the group? WWE dropped the ball with this one and if they can keep it going, more power to them.
How long do you see Stephanie Vaquer staying in NXT?
I’d say probably six to eight months to learn the WWE way of filming TV, wrestling, etc.
Is Cody Rhodes officially Roman Reigns’ successor as the “face of the company”?
He’s the current WWE Undisputed Champion so it sure seems that way. I think more people actually care about Rhea, Dom, Drew, and CM Punk at this point, but Cody is, at least on paper, currently The Man in WWE.
There’s absolutely a conversation to be had about how Triple H has booked POC and foreign talents in WWE. Yes or no?
Look who the biggest stars of the last few years have been. Samoans. Last time I checked, they’re POC. Foreign talents? Do you mean like Gunther, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Rhea Ripley, etc? The two top women are Bianca & Jade. I think Triple H is booking on talent and merit, and nothing else. I think someone is just trying to stir the pot and make up an argument when they’re essentially clueless.
Is there a battle brewing for #2 between TNA & AEW?
It sure seems like it. AEW has the money and better TV spots, but TNA has the better stories and wrestling products. If TNA could get a better TV deal with more exposure, AEW would be having some problems. And where does NXT fit into the story? Technically, they’re part of WWE, but they’re getting better ratings than AEW at least 50% of the time.
Razor Ramon versus Damian Priest. Who wins?
Hey yo! One more for the bad guy! Razor wins.
What are your thoughts on AEWs newest luchador, Hologram?
The former Aramis, formerly of AAA, debuted this past week and he looked great. He’s not Ricochet, but instead is Tony Khan’s new play toy in AEW. A great entrance and lots of high-flying, flippy-floppy moves. He’ll get the big push for a few weeks and then turn into a regular on AEW Rampage, working the six-man tag matches and the occasional one-shot for ROH.
Thoughts on Will Ospreay vs. MJF on AEW Dynamite?
It was a good match, albeit a bit long for a television match. It wasn’t as good as Meltzer claims, but it was decent. MJF and Ospreay have nothing to be ashamed of. Now, we’re just waiting for the rematch at All In.
Do you think that episodes of RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and the WWE PLEs with only men’s matches and no women’s matches are a thing of the past, and why?
They’re in the past where they belong. The women of WWE are just as good as the men and in some instances, such as Rhea, Asuka, and Becky, more over than most of the male wrestlers. The WWE product features the top talents of the WWE, regardless of gender. And unless it’s a special event, like maybe WWE Evolution, an all-Woman PLE, every show will have both men and women wrestlers, as they should.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
