It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Booker T recently said that the TNA Digital Media Championship is a title that befits an indie promotion and not a promotion like TNA Wrestling. He called it “Stupid”. Thoughts?
While stupid is a harsh word, Booker isn’t wrong. I get the idea of a Digital Media Championship since social media is such a big part of wrestling and all of our lives, but why not just say “Internet Champion” or “Social Media Champion”? Okay, I think Matt Cardona may own the rights to the Internet Championship, but still. It’s an odd choice for a championship and does feel more like an Indy title than a belt belonging to a major promotion. I get it, but that name does suck!
Booker T also recently said that Tony Khan needs to hire someone to help him with AEW. Thoughts?
I’ve said this many times and I agree 100%. Booker is 100% correct for this one.
Beth Phoenix is no longer signed with WWE. Do you think we’ll see The Glamazon in AEW?
We won’t see Beth Phoenix or The Glamazon in AEW since WWE owns the rights to both names, but I could easily see Beth Copeland becoming All-Elite. Beth is older now and I can’t see her working a full schedule in AEW, as if there truly is such a thing, but coming in for a few appearances and maybe a program with her husband, Adam, I can see that happening and I hope that it does.
Kevin Nash versus CM Punk versus Ricky Morton. Who wins?
Three legends who all had legit heat back and forth at one point. OK, Morton and Nash had heat and now, seemingly, Punk and Nash have some heat. All of that would make this a fun match. Nash would bitch about it, but I think Punk should take the win here.
Eric Bischoff recently said that AEW will never break one million viewers again. Is Bischoff right?
Unless there are some major changes made in AEW, plus some new talent and a minor miracle, I agree with Eric. He is 100% correct.
Should John Cena win the IC Championship before he retires so he can be a Grand Slam Champion in WWE?
The IC belt is in good hands with guys like Sami Zayn, Bron Breakker, Gunther, and the mid-card RAW roster. Cena should stay focused on entertaining the fans and being the best John Cena he can be. The Intercontinental Championship is not needed in the John Cena story.
Who was your first favorite pro wrestler body guy?
A body guy? The first person I remember seeing who was all muscles and larger than life was Mr. USA Tony Atlas. This was the late 70s and Atlas hadn’t been wrestling for long at that point. But damn, he was jacked. I guess Ken Patera would fall into that category as well since he was a legit muscle dude, but I was more impressed by the strength rather than the body. Those are the first two that I remember as standing out more for the bodies than the wrestling.
Tony Khan recently spoke about wanting to market ROH as AEW Ring of Honor and hopefully on TV. Thoughts?
Go ahead and put the final nail into the coffin that is Ring of Honor, because that would definitely do it. ROH is barely hanging on and doesn’t have much of an identity left as it is, but then add the AEW name to the brand. Just finish the job and kill the brand already. That would do it.
“The Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant versus Stevie Richards. Who wins?
Stevie would get some aid from his pals in the bWo and take out the Boogie Woogie Man and do you want to know why? Three words. We’re taking over! ‘Nuff said!
Rob Conway versus Swerve Strickland. Who wins?
I was a big fan of Rob Conway back in the day and he was highly underrated. But Swerve? This is his time and he’s been on fire for a while now. Rob would give an excellent effort and take Swerve to the limit, but in the end, Swerve would win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
