It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
It seems to be official and talks are underway to take WrestleMania to the UK. Thoughts?
WrestleMania in London, most likely at Wembley Stadium. That sounds like a plan. And all of that crowing about an all-time attendance record being set by Tony Khan and AEW, will be buried and quickly a thing of the past. I personally would love to see it in Charlotte, NC, so I can actually go to the event, but since I have to be content to watch it on the TV, London sounds pretty good. Works for me.
Drew McIntyre posed in a picture with Jack Perry, saying “It’s a real photo. Cry us a river!”. Thoughts?
Say what you will about Drew, but he’s done an amazing job of trolling CM Punk, and this latest move, it’s amazing. I’m sure that technically, neither AEW nor WWE management was happy about the picture, thus it being removed so quickly, but it was a masterful shot by Drew to CM Punk, in preparation for their upcoming match at SummerSlam.
Ronda Rousey is expecting her second baby. Thoughts?
Congratulations to Rousey and her family for their upcoming new arrival.
Say something positive about Nia Jax.
She has been far better in the ring since her return to WWE than she was previously. And she’s an attractive woman.
Triple H was asked how close Brock Lesnar is to returning to WWE: “You’d have to ask Brock Lesnar that, Brock does his own thing, so he’s up in Canada I’m sure watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides that he would like to do something, we’d be open to the conversation.” Thoughts?
I’m hoping that this means Brock will return at some point shortly. I’d love to see Brock return as part of the Heyman retribution against the Bloodline. Just imagine Brock versus Jacob Fatu. But if we have to hold off until the Royal Rumble or the build to WrestleMania, so be it. I’m just ready for a little Brock Lesnar chaos.
Paul Wight, fka The Big Show, is now a member of the ROH Board of Directors and is the new authority figure for Ring of Honor. Thoughts?
I guess Wight has to do something to earn his paycheck from AEW. The role of the Authority Figure for ROH is better than nothing. It’s far better than watching him try to wrestle.
Who would be your Pantheon of Professional Wrestling, aka the 12 gods of wrestling?
In classic Greek mythology, the Pantheon of Olympus was Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes, and either Hestia or Dionysus. These were the twelve major powers that be. And who would be the wrestling equivalent? Ric Flair, Vince McMahon, Dusty Rhodes, Bruno Sammartino, Fabulous Moolah, The Rock, Verne Gagne, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Triple H, HBK, and Harley Race.
Which pro wrestler reminds you of Wolverine?
Short, feisty, and a legit badass with the killer sideburns? For old-school fans, I’m thinking Ivan Putski. He was short and had lots of muscles. But for modern-day fans, I’d have to go with former TNA star Brian Cage.
With about a month to go until ALL IN and Swerve vs Hangman feeling one million degrees hotter than Swerve vs Danielson; How do you see them heating this match in time for Wembley or do you think Hangman will be added to the World Title match?
I don’t think Danielson is physically ready for this match or will be able to perform at the required level. I would think that a three-man match would be the best way to go.
What would be your top 3 AEW versus WWE dream matches and why?
First off would be CM Punk versus Jack Perry, for obvious reasons. Will Ospreay versus Seth Rollins also make for an amazing match and be fun to see. And finally, how about The Acclaimed versus Grayson Waller & Austin Theory? After all, everyone loves the Acclaimed and Waller &Theory, maybe not so much. It would be a good match.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
