It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Where is Triple H on your goat list?
Goat means all-time and that covers a lot of territory. I think Triple H would make my Top 40 easily. I’d say probably about 35 or so.
Is Hulk Hogan the biggest mainstream star in wrestling history?
Hogan was the first major mainstream star from pro wrestling to transcend wrestling and pop culture, but is he the biggest? I think The Rock might disagree. Arguments could also be made for Steve Austin as well.
MVP appeared at the GCW Bloodsport event and challenged Josh Barnett for a match at a future Bloodsport event. Barnett accepted the challenge and told MVP to bring anyone else who might be interested with him, hinting at Bobby Lashley. Thoughts?
I think it’s cool that WWE allowed MVP to do this even though he’s currently under contract with them. It’s setting up the future for MVP and his career once the WWE contract expires. MVP versus Barnett could be good.
Do you see Bron Breakker vs Jacob Fatu as a future WrestleMania match? The longer they are kept apart the more special it will be. Your thoughts?
This would be a banger of a match for sure. It doesn’t have to be WrestleMania, although it would make a nice addition to the biggest show of the year. Any PLE would work. When this eventually does happen, it should be one slobber knocker of a fight.
The Von Erichs just captured the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship with partner Dustin Rhodes at the Death Before Dishonor PPV event. Does this mean that Marshall & Ross Von Erich are All-Elite?
I haven’t heard anything definite about them signing a contract with AEW or ROH, but if they’re winning gold for the company, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that either a contract has already been signed or they’re working out the fine print and details and an agreement of some form has been reached.
Abdullah the Butcher has been hospitalized. What is your most memorable Abdullah moment?
I remember back in the Jim Crockett days, on Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, when Abby showed up from out of nowhere and attacked Wahoo McDaniel on television. I think it was Roddy Piper pulling the strings and setting Wahoo up for the ambush, but I can’t remember for sure. I had heard of Abby via the Apter Mags, but that was my first time seeing him in action and turning Wahoo into a bloody mess. Best wishes to Abby for a quick recovery.
Willow Nightingale versus Nia Jax. Who wins?
Given how clumsy Willow has been recently, and how much Nia goofed up in the past, the winner would probably be the local medical facility because both women would be banged up after this one. I don’t get it with Willow. She’s not awful, but she’s not worth the hype either. I do see something with Nia, albeit a work in progress. I think Nia would take the victory here.
When RAW goes to Netflix in 2024, should AEW Dynamite move to Monday nights on TNT to fill in the void?
If TNT would approve it, it would be a good move and would probably bump up the numbers a bit. It would be a good move for AEW, at least for the short term.
Should WWE bring back the Ice Cream Bars?
Yes. Bring back the ice cream bars.
Dirty Dutch Mantell versus Eddie Kingston. Who wins?
Dutch is one of my favorite wrestlers and characters, but he rarely, if ever, wins a match. Kingston is a lousy wrestler, but he has that something that makes you pay attention and take notice. I hate it, but I think Kingston would win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
