It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
So it’s official that Shane McMahon and Tony Khan had a meeting. So is Shane coming to AEW? Yes or no?
It sure seems to look that way, but with Tony and AEW, who knows? Even if Shane doesn’t end up being All-Elite, AEW has gotten some great press as a result of the leaked photo. But will Shane sign with and be a part of AEW wrestling? The Magic 8-Ball says, Yeah. It’s going to happen.
Alexa Bliss is making plans to return to WWE. Do you think she’ll be part of the Wyatt Sicks or be doing something else?
I’m hoping that she’ll go back to the spoiled brat Diva that she was before transforming into the Wyatt-based persona. Nikki Cross has the role of Sister Abigail with the Wyatt Sicks so Alexa isn’t needed for that… yet.
What are the first words that come to mind when you hear the name Chris Jericho?
The List. I still use that term when fussing with my friends and threatening to put them on the list. It’s fun.
“The Model” Rick Martel versus Cactus Jack. Who wins?
Martel should win, but to keep the fans happy, Cactus Jack would be the one to get the victory in the end.
Giant Baba versus The Great Khali. Who wins?
Khali has the size advantage over Baba and this would be a horrific match to attempt to watch. Baba is the better wrestler, but Khali has the bulk advantage. I think this would go to Khali.
Who is more trustworthy? The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer or PWTorch’s Wade Keller?
I used to subscribe to Keller’s PWTorch way back in the day and although he can be kind of wishy-washy at times, he was never a cheerleader for one promotion over the other and most of the scoops were legit and sourced. As for Meltzer, he’s Meltzer. We’ve all seen what he’s become over the past few years. Keller is the more reliable of the two. And Mike Johnson and Dave Scherer of PWInsider are far better and more reliable than either of them.
Does creative freedom benefit wrestlers in the long run? For creating a so-called 5-star match, but it doesn’t draw fans or viewers to the product.
Creative freedom to a point is fine, but things tend to work better when one person is calling the shots and it’s not the actual wrestlers themselves. They can disagree and make their case if the booker wants them to do something they’re not comfortable with, but for the bigger picture of things, creative freedom needs to be limited, and let the booker call the shots. It’s better for all involved.
Is Mercedes Mone the greatest women’s wrestler of all time?
Without the WWE machine backing her and taking care of the finer points of her character, Mone isn’t even in my Top 20. She’s a talented woman and a good wrestler, but she doesn’t have the natural mind for the business and without the proper guidance, she’s not truly all that.
If Vince McMahon started a new wrestling company, would you watch?
Just for the car-crash effect and curiosity, I would watch at least at first. Something like that, good or bad, would be a must-see for me.
Matt Cardona says it’s almost time for him to return to WWE 4 years after his release. Thoughts?
And hopefully, we’ll see a return at the Royal Rumble and maybe a match with Cena down the road. One can only hope. Woo woo woo – you know it.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, subscribe, and comment. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
