You have questions. I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your resident party-host and Guiding Light. Let’s do this.
Who wins the main event at All In now? I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that Danielson goes out on a high at Wembley.
Swerve is putting up the AEW Championship, while Bryan Danielson has his career on the line. Winning here and being the man who retired the American Dragon would take Sweve to the next level and make him a bigger star than ever. And I can see Danielson wanting to put Swerve over on his way out. I think Swerve should win.
Obviously, with all the buzz around Shane, what do you think an ideal role within AEW would be for him?
Shane would probably be more of an asset behind the scenes than on camera, but so far as an on-air role, I’d have him come in as an invader, possibly the money-man behind the Elite, and work in a managerial role as an on-screen rival to Tony Khan.
How would you feel if AEW Dynamite went 3 hours? And if Rampage was the Women’s show and Collision was an AEW/ROH hybrid show?
Two hours of Dynamite is barely tolerable. The AEW Women’s roster isn’t strong or deep enough to carry a show. As for the third suggestion, one I like. ROH needs some TV exposure and while sharing a show that no one watches with AEW isn’t ideal, it’s better than nothing.
When Kenny Omega returns, do you think he will come back as a special attraction performer wrestling once or twice a year, or will he pick up where he left off?
Given his health issues, I don’t think his body could handle a full-time schedule. Working as an attraction, at least until he’s confident of his abilities and limitations, makes more sense.
What if the pandemic never happened? Would AEW’s hot streak have lasted longer? Would Stadium Stampede/Anarchy in the Arena exist?
It may have been extended for a short while, but the consistent bad booking and lack of stories would have taken their toll eventually and the ratings decline would most likely have still happened. The two matches you mentioned probably wouldn’t exist, but we would have gotten something else just as wild to fill the void.
Do you think they could have Jack Perry come out to Cult of Personality at Wembley?
That would be fun to see. I don’t know if they would be able to get the rights to the song, plus it would remind too many fans of things AEW would probably prefer they forget, but I’d still pop.
Who do you think are the most promising Male and Female wrestlers in NXT right now?
Does Joe Hendry count as an NXT wrestler? After all, say his name and he appears. Let’s go with wrestlers who are actually under NXT contracts. For the men, I’d say Lexis King, formerly known as Brian Pillman Jr. As for the women, I’ll say Roxanne Perez.
Who’s the most underused wrestler in AEW?
The first names that came to mind were Miro and Ricky Starks. Why they’re not on TV, I have no idea. Also, Griff Garrison could be used much better. He’s got the look, has the skills, and cuts a good promo, but he’s just used as a jobber for ROH now. I don’t get it at all.
Shane McMahon vs Kenny Omega. When will this happen?
I don’t think it ever will. By the time Omega is back and ready to step into the ring, Shane will have come and be gone from AEW if he even signs a deal, that is. I doubt we’ll ever see these two men meet.
Triple H announced that WWE Survivor Series: War Games, will take place on November 30 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. What two teams or factions would you like to see as part of the War Games match?
By the time November rolls around, I doubt we’ll see Judgment Day being quite as unified and together as they are right now so that would eliminate them from contention. Maybe the Wyatt Sicks versus Chad Gable and his friends. That would be cool to see. And of course, the strong favorite has to be The Bloodline 2.0 versus the original Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns, with the Usos and maybe Sami Zayn in tow. I’d like to see a Bloodline 2.0 versus The Paul Heyman Guys (Roman, CM Punk, Brock, and maybe Bron Breakker or the Usos) happen as well. But most likely, it’ll be the new Bloodline versus the originals.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for international objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
