It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Was SummerSlam better than WrestleMania?
It’s a tough call, but so far as the matches, the pacing, and the production, I say yes, it was. SummerSlam hit all the burners and was entertaining from start to finish. Mania was a good show, but SummerSlam was better.
Vince Russo recently said that he would have rejected a WWE Championship run if Vince McMahon had offered it to him. Thoughts?
I think it’s safe to say that Vince McMahon would NEVER offer Vince Russo the chance to be the WWE Champion. And I think it’s also safe to say that if McMahon had offered to make Russo the WWE Champion, Russo would have shouted from the rooftops, “Hell yeah, Bro!”. You know it, I know it, and Russo knows it.
Marty Jannetty recently said that although the offer was made, he refused to sleep with Tammy Sytch, aka Sunny, while in WWE. Thoughts?
The male whore-dog turned down the female whore-dog. Okay, Marty. If you say so.
Say something positive about Mariah May.
She’s an attractive woman, fairly decent in the ring, and has big bosoms. Is that positive enough?
“He does his job today better than I did my job then.” – Jim Ross on Michael Cole. Thoughts?
And I will agree. Cole is, in the big picture of things, better than Jim Ross was during his prime. Jim Ross is an announcing GOAT and legend, and no one denies that. But Cole has been the voice of WWE for so long and he’s been consistent and steady from Day 1. And since the restraints of Vince McMahon have been removed, Cole is better than ever. Jim Ross is 100% correct.
Jesse Ventura is back with the WWE. Would you like to see Ventura do commentary on RAW or Smackdown?
I doubt that Ventura closely follows the product much anymore, so I doubt he’d be interested in working any kind of regular role with the WWE. But to see Ventura come in to call one match every so often, working as a one-off special attraction, would be pretty cool.
Ben Affleck will allegedly be playing the role of Hulk Hogan in an upcoming bio-flick about the Hulkster. Thoughts?
Ben Affleck as Hulk Hogan? Really? I’m an Affleck fan and I think he’s an amazing actor, but Ben portraying a professional wrestler? I guess he did do Batman and Daredevil so it’s not too far-fetched. It’s just a wild thought though. I am interested in seeing a Hulk Hogan bio-pic. He’s had an amazing career and life, but I wouldn’t be casting Affleck in the role. The original product allegedly was going to feature Chris Hemsworth and in my opinion, he would be much better suited for the role.
Should the Bloodline add a woman to their group? And if so, then who?
It would work if it’s the right woman. I would love to see Tamina get a good run as part of the Bloodline. Nia would be okay in the role as well, but Tamina has the look and would work better for that spot.
Logan Paul’s reign as United States Champion has officially ended at 273 days. How would you rate the run on an overall basis out of 10?
In terms of being a defending champion, Logan only defended the belt two times before losing to LA Knight. That would be on the lower scale, maybe a rating of 2. But in terms of being an attraction who draws eyes to the product and makes people take notice, it’s a whole different story. Logan was great as a character and a heel personality. That aspect of the reign, I’ll give an 8. So on an overall basis, let’s give the Logan Paul era of being the United States Champion a 6 rating.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s call it a day. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for Indy Gods interrupting wrestling weddings and I’ll see you at the matches.
