It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your resident party host and Guiding Light. I answer the questions that no one else will. Let’s do this.

If you do not like AEW, what is it that you don’t like about it?

I don’t find it entertaining. There are few actual stories to make me want to watch, plus the matches have little psychology and no selling of moves. It’s one high spot after another with little actual reasoning or purpose behind the in-ring action. The talent is there, but there’s no structure in play to make the shows make sense and most of the shows are a chaotic mess.

Do you think AEW has used Ricky Starks to his fullest potential?

No, I don’t. Just as Starks started to get over, he was pulled from the TV. If the rumors are true and he’s planning on leaving, they could use him to get others over on the way out, but instead, we get nothing. Starks has a ton of potential, but once Tony got tired of his toy, he was ignored and tossed to the side. It’s crazy!

WWE is introducing a new SPEED Championship for the Women. Thoughts?

WWE doesn’t need a new title and this SPEED Championship means very little in the big picture of things, but it’s part of a deal with X and means more revenue coming in for the company. I think it’s a waste, but it’s making them money so what do my thoughts matter?

The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan has passed away. Thoughts and memories of Kevin Sullivan?

This was a shocker. I knew that Sullivan had been in the hospital for several months and dealing with numerous issues, but I expected the Booker Man to kick out at 2 3/4. One of the most interesting characters to ever step into a ring, I first remember Sullivan in the old Apter Mags wrestling in Florida. He did a run for Crockett and eventually became one of the top guys at WCW. Though short in stature, he was always the biggest man in the ring and on camera, never to be underestimated. A true wrestling legend and icon that will be forever remembered. RIP Taskmaster.

The first wrestler that comes to mind when you see the WCW logo?

For me, it would be either Buff Bagwell or Disco Inferno. Both were great characters who were over, but never really got over anywhere else. Both were WCW mainstays for the duration of their careers.

Outside of Gunther and maybe Bron Breakker, has Brock plateaued on what he can accomplish and who he can work with in WWE?

Brock is one of those unique athletes who can work with almost anyone and it’s a main event and spectacle. Brock versus Gunther or Brock versus Breakker, either one would be fun to see. How about Brock versus Damian Priest? Brock as part of a tag team with R-Truth? Brock versus Baron Corbin? There are plenty of matches still waiting for Brock in the WWE if he makes a return.

WWE Hall of Famer and former Governor of Minnesota has officially endorsed Kamala Harris for President. Thoughts?

Jesse Ventura is entitled to his own political opinion and while I don’t agree with this one, Ventura can vote for whoever he wants to. He’s just wrong here.

Would you be okay if we never saw Logan Paul in a wrestling ring again?

Logan Paul is a great character and rarely fails to deliver in that ring. He has quickly become one of the most athletic and consistent performers in WWE, so if he were to move on to other things, it would be a sad day for wrestling. He brings more to the table than most others. I’d move on, but he would be missed.

“I think AEW’s a great company and there are a lot of people out there that don’t want to see it succeed and spend a lot of time trying to stop it, but that’s the fight that basically every challenger wrestling promotion has fought for decades.” – Tony Khan. Thoughts?

Tony is trying to play the victim and the underdog and everything is great. sighs Talk about plenty of words, yet not saying anything. But that’s Tony Khan.

Would you like to see SmackDown turn into a 3-hour show?

Would I like to see it? Nope. But if it were to happen, given the quality of the matches and the shows as of late, I wouldn’t complain all that much either. I’d just deal with it and enjoy the show.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for the Golden Spike and I’ll see you at the matches.
