It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s rock!
Who do you reckon will be able to eventually dethrone Bron Breakker for the IC strap? If I were a gambling man, my money would be on either Ilja Dragunov or, Oba Femi once he gets called up.
Whoever dethrones Breakker will be in for a great fight and feud. It’s a tough call since there are so many great talents in WWE right now. I’ll second your pick. Let’s go with Ilja Dragunov.
If you could create a social media app that was just for the IWC, what would you call it and how would you run it?
A Twitter or Facebook, but just for wrestling fans. That would be awesome. I wish I had the money and connections for something like that. As for the name, if I’m doing it, it’s called ‘Tossing Salt’. Well, that or ‘Slammers’.
Are there any athletes from outside of wrestling that you think would give the business a red-hot go?
I’d like to see Logan Paul’s brother, Jake Paul, work a match or two. Maybe the Pole Vaulting guy from the Olympics. But honestly, no one else comes to mind.
If you could pluck one performer from any company and give them the brass ring of the business who would it be?
I’d go with Matt Cardona and a WWE return. He had that ring in his grasp so many years ago and it was snatched away by Vince McMahon, who didn’t like the idea of Zack Ryder getting over on his own merit. I’d love to see him have one more run in the WWE to enjoy the success he earned and deserved.
If/when AEW announces their new TV deal, what would be their best shot at consistently raising viewing figures?
Their best shot at getting more viewers would be to get a new booker. I’m not saying that Tony Khan can’t oversee the product and offer insight, but AEW needs stories, consistency, and matches that matter and happen for a reason, none of which are Tony’s strong points. If AEW puts out a better product, the fans will come back.
How many heel turns does Dom need to make to become an omega-level heel?
Dom is the guy that fans love to hate. I think he’s peaked as a heel though. He doesn’t need any more turns. He’s there.
Is Kip Sabian teaming with Butcher and The Blade a good development for the Trios match at All In or should it be its feud instead of being thrown in with House Of Black and Bang Bang Gang?
At this point, Sabian should just be happy to have a job and to occasionally be on television. At least by teaming with Butcher and The Blade, he’s being used.
Who do you see eventually dethroning Gunther and when?
I can see Bron Breakker eventually taking Gunther out. Maybe Grayson Waller as well. As for when, when the time is right.
Why was Test so consistently pushed and why did he never get over? It feels like they were so close a few times!
Test was talented, but there was so much talent in the WWF at the time, he was just one among many. The reason he never got over as a solid main eventer? The backstage politics and the top guys protecting their spot, plus Vince McMahon’s booking. It can all be factored in.
In say 20 years, do you think Papa H and, Shawn Michaels will be remembered more for their wrestling career or their booking career?
I think the memories will include both the in-ring careers as well as the times that followed when they took over the company and turned things around. Not more for either, but equally for both.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for the salt to the eyes and I’ll see you at the matches.
