It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m playing catch-up after being under the weather for the past few weeks. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Who is the best play-by-play/color commentator currently performing their craft?
Currently? That narrows it down quite a bit, but I’ll go with the voice of the WWE, Michael Cole. Since the binders were removed after Vince left, Cole has gotten so much better.
Is the Stone Cold Stunner the best finishing move in wrestling history?
It’s simple and effective and no real arguments can be made. I still prefer the Cobra Clutch though. I’ve used it before in a fight. It works.
Does Pat Patterson get the credit he deserves?
As the creator of the Royal Rumble, as well as having a great mind for the business, I believe Patterson definitely gets his kudos.
The Finger Poke of Doom. Kevin Nash. Hollywood Hogan. Out of ten how bad was it?
I’ll go with an 8. It was pretty bad.
Who are some notables for excellence in delivering chest chops?
The best chops? Ric Flair of course, and Gunther. Wahoo McDaniel deserves mention and Big Show for those one-handed chops in the corner. How he didn’t cave anyone’s chest in, I have no idea.
When I was a child watching The Rockers, I thought Marty was the star of the team. Did you think that as a child?
I was a teenager and not a child, but yes, I felt the same way.
Who was the babyface in the Matt Hardy-Edge-Lita love triangle?
Matt was supposed to be, but it was a weird situation and weird time and in that mess, it’s hard to tell for sure.
When you were younger, what did you think of Chyna?
Physically impressive and a woman that I would not want to fight, ever. She was perfect in her role with Triple H and HBK.
How do you rate Sid’s chokeslam outta 10?
Maybe a 7.5 or an 8. I seem to remember Sid as more of a powerbomb guy than a regular user of the chokeslam.
What was Paul Wight’s biggest moment?
Winning the World Championship as a rookie in WCW against Ric Flair immediately comes to mind. The WWE debut at the St. Valentine Day’s Massacre in 1999 was huge as well. Playing Captain Insano in the Adam Sandler movie has to be noted as well.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. I’ll be back with more later. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
