I’ve been sick for a few weeks and in the hospital for the past week so I am way behind on these things. The questions have piled up, but I’ll get to every one of them. Promise! I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Ricochet has signed with AEW. Thoughts?
AEW is a better fit for Ricochet, and he’ll probably make much more money for far less work and creative freedom. Good for him.
If you could book any match between AEW and WWE, what would you book?
How about Timeless Toni Storm versus The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka? It’d be a fun match to see.
Tony Khan has confirmed that Ricky Starks is still under contract with AEW. So why aren’t they using him?
AEW is being petty because they know that Starks wants to go to WWE and, due to his ties to Cody, has a job waiting. Why use him and give him any spotlight when they can just bury him instead?
Do you agree with John Cena that Roman Reigns is the GOAT over The Rock?
It’s arguable, but in the bigger picture of things, I’ll agree that Cena has a strong case.
Jungle Boy Jack Perry versus Jungle Jim Steele. The special guest referee is Jungle Grrrl. Who wins this battle of the Tarzan wannabes?
Why do I feel like putting on a loin cloth while answering this question? I remember Steele from WCW and he was not a good wrestler. I don’t like Perry much, but he would win here.
Storytelling is more important than in-ring wrestling. Yes or no?
Without a good story and compelling characters, a wrestling match is just two guys in simulated combat for no reason. The wrestling is very important, but the build and stories are more important in the big picture of things.
What’s your honest opinion on Joe Hendry?
A good-looking dude with some charisma and good moves. I don’t really see him as a big star yet, but the potential is there.
Do you think Sting returns to the ring at the AEW All In Texas PPV to help draw a crowd?
I doubt Sting will actually wrestle, but most likely, we’ll see an appearance by The Icon.
Is there anything to the rumor that WWE is giving talents their ring names?
We’ve already addressed this. If a wrestler comes to WWE and uses a name they have used in the past, they keep the name when they leave. If WWE creates the name and character, it stays with WWE if the wrestler moves on.
Rhonda Rousey versus Rhea Ripley. Who wins?
In a shoot, Rhonda would win, but in a wrestling match, Mami always comes out on top.
And there you have it. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. I’ll be back with more very shortly. Pro wrestling never stops or sleeps. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
