I’ve answered over 90 questions over the past few days, questions that had backed up into my inbox while I was in the hospital dealing with some major issues. Don’t ever say that I don’t love you. Now I have sixteen questions left in the box and I’ll be caught up. I’ll probably return to the hospital in a few days so if I vanish again, no worries. You’ve been warned. I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Is Britt Baker gone? Why was she removed from All Out?
I’ve checked her Twitter page and Wikipedia and after her match at All Out, she’s seemingly vanished. She’s still listed as part of the AEW roster, but I guess that she ruffled feathers in the build to All In and now, she’s just being sent home again and not being used. We’ll have to keep an eye on this one.
So now that it’s up for sale, should Tony Khan buy WWE Titan Tower and establish it as the home base of AEW?
That would be major crazy and I could see Tony Khan doing this just out of spite for the WWE. It would be petty, childish, and so basic, that the wrestling world would explode. I doubt it will happen, but just imagine what if?
Tony Khan in a new post states that AEW is on the 1-yard line at the most important time in the company’s history. Thoughts?
Tony is excited and has big news, which in Tony-speak could be big news or could be signing Marko Stunt to a ten-year deal. I tend to take Tony’s big announcements with a grain of salt. We’ll just have to wait and see what this one might be.
Jackie Moore has signed a new WWE Legend contract, and Victoria has also. Thoughts?
Both women are legends in the WWE ring and two of the best women of their era. Congratulations to both ladies. It’s always great to see the legends who deserve it get the credit due.
What’s your favorite heel gimmick/persona?
I’ve always liked the rich guy who thinks he’s better than everyone else and looks down on the other wrestlers in contempt. Think Ted DiBiase, JBL, Alberto Del Rio, etc.
What did you think of the big Smackdown debut of Giovanni Vinci?
Vinci came out looking like Cesaro was stuck in the dryer too long and lost his debut match in less than ten seconds. I’m sure there’s a purpose to all of this and I won’t presume to judge until it’s given more time to see how things develop.
Velveteen Dream versus Adrian Street. Who wins?
The showmanship for this match would be amazing. The match itself would be okay. And Adrian Street would win convincingly and easily.
Netflix has released trailers for the new Vince McMahon documentary. Thoughts? And will you be watching?
From what I’ve seen, Netflix isn’t pulling any punches or holding back with the documentary. Considering when the interviews were conducted, I doubt we’ll learn anything new and I doubt WWE will be happy. Yes, I will be watching every episode.
Do you think CHIKARA or EVOLVE ever return?
Chikara? I would doubt it. Their product was bad towards the end and it would take a lot of work and investment to rebuild that brand. Evolve? WWE owns the rights to the company and brand so if they wanted to bring it back, they could. I doubt that they would, but it’s always possible.
James Ellsworth versus Marko Stunt. Who wins?
The Lollipop Guild. Just kidding. This one would go to Mr. Ellsworth.
According to sources, Triple H allegedly blocked Omos from becoming the next Big Show. Thoughts?
Why would he want another Big Show? If this is true, it’s most likely that Hunter wants Omos to be Omos, a unique character, rather than a rip-off of a former star. And who are these sources? If they aren’t willing to be open about their identity, they’re not worth listening to.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap this up. I need to go take some meds. I’ll see you at the matches.
