It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
George South. Does he belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
As big a fan as I am of this NC Legend, I would say no about this one. George South is a wrestling legend and has had a remarkable career, but while I can easily see an induction into a Crockett Promotions or Indy HOF, he’s just not someone who I would put in a WWE exhibition. He’s good, but he’s not WWE in any way, shape, or form.
Rufus R. Jones versus Blackjack Lanza. Who wins?
My smiles at the antics of Rufus while thinking of this match in my head are rather huge. He was not a good wrestler, but he was a great entertainer and never failed to delight the audience. Lanza was a tough-as-nails cowboy and old-school talent. This could be a good match. I think Rufus would score the win.
I saw where WWE plans to bring back Saturday Night’s Main Event. Should they use Jesse Ventura as the color commentator for these events?
I”‘m not sure how up-to-par Ventura’s commentary skills would be these days, but if WWE does bring back the SNME program, it would be a shame to not have Ventura as a part of it in some fashion. At least with a cameo or interview if nothing else.
WWE has allegedly started planning for a potential feud between The Wyatt Sicks and Drew McIntyre after Bad Blood. Thoughts?
That would be interesting to see. It could be fun. Yeah, I think I’d enjoy seeing The Wyatt Clan and Drew go a few rounds.
It seems as if Adam Cole and Britt Baker have separated. Cole is still out injured and Baker is MIA in AEW again. If AEW has to choose between the two to keep under contract, which would you pick?
If AEW makes a choice, I think they’d go with Cole. I think, at this point, Baker has the most upside left in her career, but my gut says AEW would be Adam Cole, Bay Bay. And Baker? She could move on to TNA or NXT and improve her skills, career, and standing in the wrestling community.
Who do you think will be Lyra Vakyria and Zelina Vega’s partner on tonight’s RAW?
My guess was, since they were in Canada, to be Natalya. And I was right. It was Natalya.
What’s the best Bret Hart match of all time?
It’s a tough call because Bret had a lot of very good matches in his career. My personal favorite that stands out in my mind was against Owen Hart at WrestleMania X. Anytime Bret and Owen were in the ring together, it was magical.
Kevin Nash had some things to say about Logan Paul. “He’s not one of the boys. Where would he learn that shit at? Where is he going up and down talking jargon? In the building? Everybody is in their own motorcoach. There is no interaction. There is no socialization. You don’t become one of the boys just because you’re around them. From what I heard he’s making five million bucks for limited (dates) and all those other guys are out there making house shows, fuck you. Fuck you.” Thoughts?
I don’t have to reply because Logan Paul saw the tweet and made a reply. Logan said, “I got people messaging me. They’re like ‘Yo, Kevin Nash is talking shit about you.’ I said ‘damn! Who is Kevin Nash?’ And I mean that. I am unfamiliar with this guy, which I think is his problem — I’m not as versed in the WWE, in wrestling, as maybe I should be, as my peers are. But then how am I so much better than all of them? You know, I don’t have the answers to these questions. It is a question. I don’t know how I could be the best in the WWE, or at least one of the best like I’m surely a top fiver, and I don’t even do it full-time. Now imagine if I did learn a little bit. Imagine if I devoted, became one of the boys, learned what the difference between a shoot and a work was. Will that make me a champion?” Followed by, “Fuck me? Fuck you. You’re one of the old guys who is bitter that I am better at your job than you ever were. And that makes you pathetic. This will be my sport, and I will continue to make guys like you eat your words when I devote a little bit of time to it. So fuck me? Fuck you.”
And now, we wait and see how Nash replies.
Wrestling veteran Bin Hamin believes it’s just a matter of time now before Endeavor gets rid of Nick Khan and Paul Levesque and replaces them with their own handpicked guys. Thoughts?
Who is this source? I’ve been a fan for 54 years and never heard of him. But the premise is a real one. At some point, Endeavor may try and replace Nick Khan and Triple H. It’s a cutthroat business and things like that do happen. I’m sure Khan and Hunter realize this and have contingency plans in place. If it happens, it happens, but so long as WWE continues to grow and be successful, I doubt Khan or Hunter have much to worry about.
Alan Angels vs Mustafa Ali. Who wins?
I’d be pulling for Alan Angels on this one.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
