I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I need questions. Send them to Doug28352@yshoo.com. No topic is off-limits. And now, let’s roll.
What are your current thoughts on The Wyatt Sicks? Do you think WWE has done a good job with their booking & presentation?
I believe that so far, so good. While we have the whole spooky effect going on, thus far, it hasn’t been excessive. These are tortured souls united in an homage to their friend/brother/mentor Bray Wyatt. It hasn’t gotten crazy yet, and less seems to be more. I have no complaints.
Do you have any thoughts on Magnificent Don Muraco?
Muraco was one of those guys who always stood out and had that aura about him, you knew he was a bad-ass dude. I remember seeing him in Florida and with a short run in Crockett and he just seemed special. He went to WWF and became larger than life and a bigger star than ever. He was just a special and strong talent.
“You will always be a close second to my actual favorite, Bill Goldberg.” – Gunther to Bret Hart on RAW. Thoughts?
That line was funny. I popped. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bret himself suggested it as he seemed to almost smile when Gunther made that statement. It was a great line and a WWE Raw moment.
Thoughts on Low Ki. Is he that good or overrated?
Low Ki is a talented dude, but he always seems to be so full of himself and he has an ego. The guy is a good wrestler. He’s not a big man but pretends to be 6’8 and it doesn’t work. He’s essentially a walking enigma. I’ll go with overrated in the big picture of things.
WWE should have a Wrestlemania at Yankee Stadium. Yes or no?
It would be a great selling point. Yankee Stadium has a 47,000 seating capacity, but for something like Mania, I think they could get it up to 50,000 spots. If not Wrestlemania, I’m sure Summerslam or some other special event would work. WWE should at least inquire about the famed landmark stadium.
Tiffany Stratton will be the face of the Women’s division by next year. Yes or no?
One of the faces of the division and among the top of the WWE Women’s roster, I think that’s an easy yes.
Allegedly, WWE may have the flexibility with the length of RAW when it moves to Nexlflix, sometimes three hours, shorter, and sometimes longer, as needed. Thoughts?
If this is true, it would be awesome. More time, when needed, for the mid-card matches and small things, but no need for filler and wasting time either. I think being able to have some flexibility with the format and timing of the shows would greatly add to the WWE Raw product.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Batista stated that a part of him feels like he’s not worthy of going into the Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
And Batista is entitled to feel as he wants. Fortunately, most of the WWE audience, as well as his peers, disagree.
So, everyone is speculating about AEW: Shockwave and is seemingly under the assumption that it is going to be a new weekly show (maybe on FOX, I guess?). What are your thoughts?
If it happens, so be it. And if not, so be it. I can’t imagine Fox adding more wrestling to their network, but if it’s affordable enough and fills air time, why not? This seems more like another vanity project for AEW to me, something they do not need at the moment. We’ll just have to wait and see how this all develops and plays out.
Disco Inferno versus The Miz. Who wins?
Looking at both their histories and careers, the winner is pretty evident. It would be The Miz. But the match would be competitive, entertaining, and leave the audience wanting more. Both men are that good.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and stay well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
