It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s do this.
Who do you want to see in the WWE Women’s World Championship picture after Bad Blood?
After Nia & Bayley do their thing and Rhea versus Live has finished, how about Tiffy Time as the champion, via the MITB contract, against a returning Carmella? The Rhea versus Liv feud, I could see being drawn out until Wrestlemania. With the Judgment Day and Damian Priest involved, it has legs. But after Mania, how about Mami being challenged by Rachel Rodriguez or maybe a returning Charlotte? Works for me.
Is Ricky, from the Owens match on Smackdown, the next James Ellsworth for WWE?
No, he’s Ricky. Look at the introduction he was given. But seriously, I could see Ricky as a recurring backup character. Another Ellsworth? Works for me.
Allegedly, Saraya has major issues with Mercedes Monet and the special treatment Mone gets from AEW, such as a private dressing room, a bodyguard, etc. Britt Baker is also said to have loudly complained about Mercedes’ privileges and special treatment backstage. Thoughts?
If Saraya and Baker have problems, they should speak to their agents and work out a better deal. Monet got the perks figured in as part of her contract when she was hired. Is it right or fair to the other talents in the AEW locker room? No, it’s not, and Monet should make overtures to appease the dispute in the locker room, and that would be cool and the professional thing to do as a sign of respect and to smooth the waters. But the bottom line is she had a good agent and got a great deal. And if the others don’t like it, it’s their problem and not hers.
What’s your all-time favorite version of Mick Foley?
Of the four faces of Foley, Mick Foley, Cactus Jack, Dude Love, or Mankind, my personal favorite has always been Cactus Jack.
Who was the heel that you cheered as a kid?
I was always a fan of The Anderson Brothers, Ole & Gene. And then later, the managers like Sir Oliver Humperdink, Gary Hart, and Paul Jones, were among my favorites as well.
After the match on RAW, it appears that Xavier Woods is not happy and mad at Kofi Kingston. Is this the end of the New Day? Thoughts?
The tease for the break-up of the New Day has officially begun. I expect that we’ll see Big E getting involved and the possibilities are limitless. Will we see the end of The New Day or perhaps, a new version of the New Day rise from the ashes? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Who is the better in-ring of all time? Kurt Angle or Bryan Danielson.
Of all time? It’s a tough call because both Angle and Danielson are among the best of the best in professional wrestling. I think I’d have to go with Bryan Danielson.
If you had to ballpark it, from wrestling alone, how much moolah did Kevin Nash collect?
Nash was among the highest-paid people in wrestling in WCW during the final years due to his contract and the “most-favored-nation” status that he and Scott Hall shared. I have no idea of the actual numbers, but I’m guessing 2-3 million a year, at least through the final WCW years. And then throw in the acting roles, the podcast, the merchandise, and appearances, Nash hasn’t been hurting for money in quite a while.
What is the Mount Rushmore of wrestling referees?
From off the top of my head, I’d say, Tommy Young, Earl Hebner, Charles Robinson, and Pee Wee Anderson.
I once heard that the original plan for Summerslam 1992 was for the Ultimate Warrior to turn heel and align himself with Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair. Do you think the Warrior could have worked as a heel?
No, it wouldn’t have worked. I just can’t see Warrior teamed with Flair and Perfect. Not as characters and not in reality. Warrior was booked too much as the unbeatable hero to become a heel without totally destroying the entire gimmick and character. It just wouldn’t have worked.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
