Ten Questions: The Avengers, Political Leanings, and Me

During my recent hospital stay, I spent a lot of time on the phone, looking through Twitter, FB, and more random sites that one could shake a stick at. And I found a ton of questions about everything. These are ten of the best. It’s totally unfiltered Dougie. The more you know, right? I’m taking a break from the wrestling stuff and getting more up close and personal. Yeah, that sounds good. Let’s roll.
Captain America puts out a call for 8 Avengers for an Intergalactic team to live and work in space. Which Avengers would you pick for this team?
Outer space means two things for the Avengers. Members who can adapt to the void of space and the culture shock of other planets, plus those who are sufficient in power that they would be able to hold their own in conflicts with other species and in the most abnormal of conditions. So that being said, my elite team of Galactic Avengers would be serving as the leader of the unit, Monica Rambeau, aka Photon. And the recruits? Starfox, Tigra, Living Lightning, Hercules, The Black Knight, Moondragon, and Joscota.
You get to select 5 bands for the Ultimate package show. What bands are you choosing, and who would be the headliner?
For me, it would be Alice Cooper as the headliner, with very special guests Dr. Hook, Sublime, Waylon Jennings, Rickie Lee Jones, and Mr. Francis Albert Sinatra.
Of all the concerts you’ve seen in your life, which artist impressed you the most?
Easily it’s Reba McEntire. When I went to see her live, I wasn’t expecting much. I knew she was a good singer, but I wasn’t really a fan. The live Reba experience blew me away. I knew she was the real deal and one of the best almost immediately. I’ve been a fan of hers and of Linda Davis, ever since.
Would you rather live under the ocean or in outer space?
Probably in a pineapple up under the sea. I love night, but I can’t imagine how huge and void living in space would be.
Describe your ideology for social media and politics. What do you believe and why?
I’m a moderate liberal with conservative values. I try to look at the big picture of things and reality rather than factor in emotion or feelings. I was brought up with common sense. I’m for less government, less control, and essentially less is more for almost everything. Personal freedom is a huge thing, but your freedoms can’t be forced on me and what I choose to feel or believe. Abortion is a necessary evil and at times needed, but it can’t be taken casually as an option. Abortion in cases of rape or incest, or to save the life of a mother, I can live with. But aside from that, it’s the murder of a living person and should not be allowed. Protest is fine, but the moment it gets physical or laws are broken, it’s not a protest anymore. It’s a criminal riot and it should have consequences. I’m just me. I try to be open-minded and fair to everyone. But actions and behavior have consequences and people get what they give. Hostility is rewarded with the same. And there you go.
Describe your perfect dream home.
A nice piece of land and an old country house. Maybe three or four bedrooms, an office or library to work, a spacious kitchen with plenty of counter space, and room for my friends, family, and cats when they’re visiting. A sauna or hot tub would be nice too.
Will the P. Diddy scandal bring down Hollywood? Do you think Diddy will be Epsteined?
It’s going to be big and there will be consequences for many years to come, but in the end, it’s a distraction with the very evil POS Diddy being thrown to the wolves to distract from the elections and routine evil in Washington and Hollywood. While everyone is focused on Diddy, the true masters can go about their business with little fear of exposure. And yes, Diddy is going to be Epsteined. It’s not an if, but a matter of when.
Who would be in your perfect team of X-Men?
I loved the concept of the Blue & Gold teams in the 90s as that really played up to the individual mutants working together and focusing on the best characters while making sure that the lesser characters still got attention and development. My perfect team of X-Men? I’d have Storm as the team leader. Her group would be Wolverine, Kitty Pryde, Iceman, The Beast, Northstar, Dani Moonstar, Nightcrawler, and Colossus.
Would you ever run for political office? Why or why not?
I would love to be more involved in local politics, but it will never happen. The main factor is my physical health. I’ve got far too much going on and couldn’t handle it. I’ve also got a few too many skeletons in my closet. There is nothing I’m ashamed of and I’m honest about it all, both the good and the bad, but it would upset a few people. And I don’t play well with others. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten more blunt and straight to the point. I don’t care about feelings or being the nice guy anymore. It’s about the big picture of things and what has the best results and makes the most sense. Tough love and maybe the occasional personal sacrifice? So be it. Entitlements are earned. It’s not race or religion or gender or sexual orientation that matters, but skills, ambition, and character. I don’t believe in PC. I believe in reality. So no, I wouldn’t make a good politician.
If you were ever cast in a TV show, what kind of show would it be? What would your character be like?
It’d have to be a comedy/drama, kind of like the old Roseanne show. A comedy, with dramatic stories and situations to make it real while still being entertaining. And my character? I’d be me. Personable, but reclusive. More background than anything else, but quick with the sarcasm, the one-liner, and the insightful gem every so often. Just think Howard’s mother on The Big Bang Theory, but needing a shave, sitting at a computer, and yelling at a cat. Or maybe Patrick Starfish?
And there you go. And now, you know more about me than you probably wish. You’re welcome. And I guess that wraps this up for now. Thoughts, questions, and comments are welcome and appreciated. I’ll see you on the flipside.
