It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Would Harley Race be successful in today’s world of professional wrestling?

Harley is not a pretty boy, nor is he flashy, charismatic, or exciting to watch. He didn’t do high spots and meaningless flips or take unnecessary risks. He just wrestled very well, cut a decent promo, and was legit tougher than 98% of the other wrestlers, with a no-nonsense, all-business attitude. In today’s wrestling world, Harley would never make it out of the high school gyms and Independent wrestling. And that’s a very sad statement about what pro wrestling is and has become.

Bar Fight: Harley Race versus Barbarian versus Haku. Who walks out?

After realizing that he may be outmatched physically, Harley would just pull out his gun and shoot both of them. Harley would be the one to walk out.

Thoughts on the Vince McMahon documentary on Netflix?

It’s mostly just a rehash of what most wrestling fans have already seen or know. And the ‘facts’ they presented weren’t always up to par either. It’s okay, I guess, but I wasn’t impressed at all and to be honest, considered it boring. For the casual fan or Vince haters, I’m sure they’ll find a lot to love here, but it did nothing for me. I was anticipating much more, but the Vince docu-series didn’t deliver.

Are you hyped for Jon Moxley vs Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream?

I’m trying, but I honestly just don’t care at this point. The story makes no sense and both Danielson and Moxley are stale characters at this point. Danielson can still go, as he proved in the match with Nigel, but Mox has nothing left that interests me.

MVP showed up on AEW Dynamite and wants to have a conversation with Swerve Strickland. Are you excited to see MVP as part of AEW? And where do you think this conversation will lead?

It was a good promo and a way to introduce MVP without insulting the intelligence of the casual fan. I’m actually interested in seeing how this develops and goes. As to where it leads, with MVP in the house, can Bobby Lashley or Shelton Benjamin be too far behind? It’s a Hurt Business reunion coming up but with Swerve as the main focus instead of Lashley.

The Hardliners, Dick Murdoch & Dick Slater, versus The APA, Ron Simmons & JBL. Who wins?

This match would be fun and incredible to see. We all know how tough the APA was. Believe me, Murdoch & Slater were equally as tough. Old-school brutality at its best with four of the absolute best. I’d go with Slater and Murdoch to pick up the win.

Julia Hart versus Madusa. Who wins?

Madusa would walk all over Hart and give her a spanking. Madusa wins.

Does AEW have the best roster in pro wrestling currently?

It’s a tough answer. I think WWE probably has the stronger overall roster, but AEW has some talented people under contract. It’s a strong mix of veterans and younger wrestlers and the potential to match up with any company is there. AEW just doesn’t know how to properly use the talent they have. It’s like having a billion-dollar computer, but all you do is e-mail. No one says that AEW doesn’t have some good wrestlers on board. It’s not the roster. It’s how they book and use them that sucks so badly.

Allegedly, Vince McMahon Sr. planned to sell the WWWF to Gorilla Monsoon and not Vince Jr. Would the company have enjoyed the same success under the leadership of Gorilla instead of Vince?

Nope. Gorilla was old-school in that the WWF would have continued as it was, a successful territory and regional market, but the whole concept of going national and expansion, I can’t see Gorilla making those kinds of moves. The expansion and growth, that was all Vince Jr.

Big E states that he’s getting scans in 3-6 months, and if the doctors say he’s healthy to go back, then he will sit down and talk about a return to pro wrestling. Thoughts?

Three to six months? That’s just enough time for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to have their issues, break up the team, and then have a big reunion with the return of Big E at WrestleMania. Works for me. But seriously though, if Big E can return safely, I wish him the best. I just want him to do what’s best for himself and his family.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
