It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
Miz turned on R-Truth. Why Miz, why? Thoughts?
This makes sense. Miz is a much better heel than a babyface and the Awesome Truth had run its course. Now these two can work a mid-card program that will make Truth more popular than ever, give Miz another run as a heel, and be loads of fun for the fans. It’s wrestling booking 101. And I’m looking forward to it.
Are you excited for WWE Bad Blood this coming Saturday?
I’m looking forward to both Bad Blood and Smackdown on the Friday night before. Every match on the PLE has a strong story behind it and will be given plenty of time to develop and grow. And Smackdown is a loaded show too, as I’m sure RAW will be on the following Monday. WWE is on a roll right now and every show is becoming a must-see event.
Has Punk vs Drew been the WWE feud of the year?
I’m not sure if Punk versus Drew gets the nod or the Rhea/Priest war against Judgment Day & Liv Morgan. Both have been excellent television.
Do you think Xavier Woods took Rey’s mask off on purpose?
Of course not. If Woods says that it was an accident that just happened to lead to a victory, I believe him. Woods is one of the good guys. He’d never lie to us.
Titus O’Neill recently said in an interview that he has no “bad words” to say about Vince McMahon. Thoughts?
I don’t think Titus has a bad word to say about anyone. I think, with Vince, he only saw what Vince wanted him to see. From all accounts, Titus and Vince had a strong, positive relationship, so this comment doesn’t surprise me at all.
Seth Rollins is back and cost Bronson Reed the Last Monster Standing match against Braun Strowman. Thoughts?
It’s a good way to transition Reed into a feud with a bigger star and help build him into a solid top-level guy. Plus it gave Seth some time off, and now that he’s back, he gets to help develop a star for the future and have a fun feud at the same time. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
Thoughts on Bron Breakker as a babyface?
Breakker as a babyface just doesn’t work well for me, but Breakker as a tweener, respectful, but arrogant, seems realistic and doable. Breakker seems to be getting more comfortable and seems, based on what I’ve seen in interviews, to just be playing an amped-up version of himself. Works for me.
Today is the one-year anniversary of Adam Copeland’s debut with AEW. How would you rate his run so far on a scale of 1-10?
It started okay as he worked an angle with Christian, but it’s been downhill ever since. And then the broken leg happened. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 5 at best.
WWE has filed to trademark ‘Yes Yes Yes’. Thoughts?
It just shows that WWE can get petty sometimes too. WWE doesn’t need the phrase, but they don’t want Tony Khan to have control of it. So there you go.
Who is more important in the WWE pecking order right now? Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens?
Most would say Kevin Owens and he is very important to the WWE. It’s true. But Sami has that connection with the fans, win or lose, and they truly love the guy. Owens is a top guy and one of the best on the WWE roster, but Sami has the heart of the fans. He’d be harder to replace. I’ll go with Sami.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
